Question about Canon PowerShot S51S Digital Camera

1 Answer

I shot video of the clouds last week in the storms from May 22. The video is great, but the clouds move in like the focus is re-adjusting in the video. It is very hard to watch in playback mode. I now editing the video and have tried to slow the speed and speed up the video and it is just too hard to work with in the edit process. I hope the canon Power Shot S51S is not going bad for video. Thank you,Steve

If you were using autofocus for this, it is probable that there was insufficient contrast for the camera to maintain focus, causing it to 'hunt' for a viable focus point. Next time you try, set the lens / camera combination to manual focus, at the hyperfocal distance for the aperture you are using.

SOURCE: "busy" Error

check your firmware version and update if necessary. Usually you get the "busy" message when your camera is writing to the card and it's possible the card isn't quite right - a format should fix it. Alternatately you might try a different CF card to see if the problem goes away. Good luck!

Either do a manual repair or take it in to a local servicer. Could just be some moisture built up inside.

How do I adjust the rear sight on a H&R Model 939 22 LR revolver

Move the rear sight in the direction you want the bullet to move on the target. Shoot groups of at least three and move the group instead of trying to zero on one shot.

Hello, I have a Bushnell sportsman 3x9 mounted on a 22. I bought it new last year, but only took it to the range last week. I can't get the left/right cross hairs to move enough. At 25 yards, it shoots 9...

Start buy loosening the scope in the mounts. Loosen the front first to see if it is in a bind (left/right). Tighten it back down but not completely. Loosen the rear looking for some movement or popping sound. If you see a movement or notice some odd thing. check the mounting slots for dirt or dings that may cause an offset to the mount. If all is well. Go and start and zero for 13 - 15 yards. you want to be 1 1/2 inch hi. Now after each shot rap the scope with a screw driver handle or something solid, just to give the scope a shock not hard enough to bend it or dent it but shock it. Large scopes are meant for larger shock than a 22 produces, rapping the scope will help move the cross hairs and settle them in place. Hope this Fixya up. If it does help, please leave a testimonial. Thank you for using Fixya.

I can get the elevation adjustment cap off. Is there some secret to elevation adjustment?

if the scope is out the best way to set it up is to clamp the rifle in a jig or hold it hard done on a sand bag,,,firs off the first shot at the bull and see were the shot hit the card,,,now without moving the rifle turn the scope turrets till the cross is over the bullet hole from the last shot,,,now again aim at the bull and shoot again,,,the shot should hit the bull,,if not reajust the scope as before,,,

Rectangle in led screen green/ or yellow with exclamation

The camera doesn't have anything to focus on - especially if you're shooting the sky. The auto focus needs something with fairly defined edges to work. Try to focus on the edge of a well defined cloud, or focus on a tree or similar, half depress the shutter to lock the focus, then move re-frame your shot. Alternatively you can use manual focus. Hope that helps

Vibrations begin when turned on

Sony has discovered that some DSC-T20 and T300 Cyber-shot cameras sold in the United States may experience an issue with abnormal internal vibration and an inability to properly focus and take pictures. For cameras affected by this issue, Sony will provide free repair until July 17, 2011. In certain units, the lens cannot adjust properly due to a mechanical failure in the lens mechanism. When the automatic features of the camera attempt to adjust the lens, the camera body vibrates, preventing it from properly focusing or taking pictures.
if you have any problem regarding this issue post a comment information about the problem.we will glad to assist you

good luck

Lost signal from the satellite

Signal Fade And Loss ~ Important, especially during winter!

Keep in mind that satellite broadcasts occur directly from fixed satellites in space to users. UPLINKS TO that satellite can happen from almost anywhere in the world! This includes broadcasts from remote studios, satellite vans and trucks.

Even signals from the main providing studios are susceptible to weather conditons even tho they have huge, high-gain transmitting dishes!

Weather is a major factor for both the uplinks and downlinks! Storm clouds can block the signals anywhere in the signal path(s). Rain clouds do too ~ even if it's not raining yet. Water-laden clouds make some of the BEST signal attenuators.

So one may have a gorgeous day in San Diego (let's say), but storms back east could trash satellite reception at his location and potentially everywhere else!

As you know, weather conditions all over the US are changing constantly with many severe storms occurring this past week and during any winter. In fact this week there was total signal loss on several satellites and I suspect storms back east were a big factor.

So it could have just been issues of timing for you. The UPLINK had intermittent problems with signal paths semi-crippled by weather... YOUR weather was CLEAR, but your reception was far from problem free ~ only because of weather problems elsewhere.

If you see intermittent satellite reception do check out the weather... especially back east.

Hope this helps!

Ixus 750 Blurred photos shot at a distance greater than a meter.

Check to see that the camera is not in "macro" mode, which would only allow focusing at a close range, but not allow focusing at beyond about 2 meters (look for the "flower" symbol to tell you that macro is activated). Could also be an out of adjustment lens, due to impact or force. Also check to make sure it's not as simple as a dirty lens. Digital cameras are more succeptable to blurry pictures from a smudged lens than film cameras were. Of course, that wouldn't explain why close shots are OK but distant ones aren't. Probably the first two suggestions.
