Hello sir, I would try to install the driver in compatibly mode, right click on the setup file for the driver and select compatibility mode, then select use windows recommended settings, after this the wizard will detect any further compatibly issues and reinstall the driver.

Hello antonhs2000,

I assume you went through the direct instructions located HERE. It does not suggest a restart anywhere on the page, so I would suggest doing that. I have always made it a habit to restart my computer after uninstalling drivers and installing drivers as well just to be safe.

My HP G60 laptop with Vista won't connect to Netgear router

Usually there are 2 types of wireless connections, 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. Your laptop may not be able to connect to one of these connections, so it may be incompatible with your router. You can try buying a USB networking card (no more than $20). It will plug into one of your USB ports and should allow you to connect to your router. Hope this helps!

Not able to connect the extender to my apple time capsule? no wps button. can i use this extender?

Hi, yes you will be able to use the Netgear range extender with the Apple Time Capsule, provided you configure the Time Capsule's wireless settings based from the wireless security you have setup on the Netgear router or extender. No need for WPS button. Just treat the time capsule just like another wireless laptop.
For instructions in setting up wireless settings of Time Capsule click on this link -->> http://www.apple.com/timecapsule/wireless.html

Hope this helps. Glad to be of service.

1. Reset the router to factory settings.

- Before you reset the router, unplug all the cables attached to it except the power cord.

- Make sure the router is plugged into the power outlet, then hold down the reset button at

the back of the router for 30 seconds using a paper clip or a pen. You should see the lights flicker momentarily on the front panel of the router.

2. Once the lights are stable, connect 1 computer or laptop directly to the back of the

router(LAN ports usually they are labeled by numbers and have the same color, just pick one).

If you pick number 1, check the corresponding light indicator at the front panel of the

router, make sure light 1 is also lit up if not choose another port at the back of the router.

3. access the router's setup page by typing http://www.routerlogin.net or 192.168.1.1 in the

address field of your browser and then press Enter. Type admin for the router user name and your password (or the default, password). Setup and configure the router again.

4. If you notice the connection is not stable or the lights on the router are still not

displaying correctly, you may update or reload the same firmware(program or software) on the

router. You may download the updated firmware from http://support.netgear.com , just type the

model of your router, choose the version, press enter then click on Downloads, you should see

the firmware available for your router. Make sure to use wired connection when updating the

firmware.

As netgear setup disc doesnot support Win 7.
U need to manually setup the netgear product

-- hard resett the router using a restore factory setting hole on the back of the router
-- open the netgear router page using www.routerlogin.com
-- Username - admin , Password - password
-- run setup wizard
-- if it detects dynamic ip then press next
-- and on the left u will see wireless settings under setup .
-- secure the network using WPA_PSK(TKIP)
-- and then apply .

In case if it will detect static or fixed ip .
Then click on " Basic settings "
-- Under router MAC address
-- select "use computers MAC adress "
-- Apply
-- And then Powercycle the network..
-- And u will be able to go online ..

I have a laptop with windows 7 pro I'm trying to install a wireless g router netgear wgr614 with the cd. It is telling me that I need windows xp or 2000 to install. It wont let me install it with windows 7...

You really don't need to use the cd. Below is a link to the setup procedure:

You'll need to connect a PC with a cable to the router. Open browser and type in http://192.168.1.1 in the address bar. Input username as admin, the password is password. If you need more help, let me know. I'm leaving a link to the setup manual for your router below:

Can the wirless n router be used on windows 7

depends ...

Most likely, yes. There are connection issues you must address. Is your computer wireless ready? If not, you will have to install a wireless device in your computer. For a lap top it may be on a card or USB based. For a desktop it will be PCI based.

If your computer is network ready (has a RJ-45 outlet in the back - looks like a phone jack only bigger), and your computer is close by your modem - you are LOTS BETTER OFF using wire than wireless.

Why?

Speed. Security. Ease of setup.

Wireless runs at 10 on a good day. Wireless is limited to 300 feet radius (good circumstances). Wire runs at 100 or 1000 all the time. 600 feet radius.
