Question about KitchenAid 24 in. KUDI01FLSS Stainless Steel Built-in Dishwasher

Open Question

KitchenAid dishwasher, Model # KUDP021RBS1 - "Normal and cancel lights blink constantly". I had this same problem about two weeks ago so I googled your site and though the solution I found was not exactly applicable to my problem but I tried and that is - Press high Temp, heated dry, high temp and then heated dry and then cancel button and then close the door. Would you believe it worked like a magic wand. But this same problem resurfaced and I am trying all those old tricks but nothing is working. Normal and cancel lights keep blinking. Any help would be greatly appreciated. brij.

SOURCE: Lights blinking and won't clear

the solution #3 should work.. you may want to try again.... first turn off the Breaker to cut power then wait a few minutes then turn back on, then within 6 seconds try (Heated dry)(normal)(heated dry)(normal).. all lights should light up then you know that you are in the service cycle, and the unit should go into a self test and clear the fault. The test take about 30 minutes. let me know if you can get into it...

about the only thing to try would be to remove the inner door panel to get to the control bd then you will see a mylar ribbon looks like a fat piece of scotch tape pull up on the plastic connector that holds it in and pull the ribbon out then get a clean pencil eraser and gently clean the ribbon and put it back in dont forget to push the locking tab back down then try it again and let me know

SOURCE: My normal cycle and cancel button lights are

Probably a keypad gone bad. Try replacing the keypad.

There is a troubleshooting guide behind the foot kick panel. It gives a sequence to test for a bad keypad. You can try that sequence to be sure.

SOURCE: the light on the buttons that say cancel and normal are flashing and the dishwasher won't turn on.

first thing to try is to disconnect power for 15 minutes and then try again if goes into default again take off bottom panel and behind the black trim will be a tech sheet see if it gives yousome diagonostics sounds like it may be the computer if the power off and on doesnt make it work,.

My Kitchen Aid Dishwasher model # KUDS40FVSS0 has blinking cancel, sani-rinse and normal wash lights. It will not run at all. We replace the control board and still nothing. Please Help!!!

I have had this problem. Mine didn't work for over a week and by the time the repair man came over to 'replace the board' it suddenly worked. The guy told me that if you use ANY type of liquid dishwashing soap (for your sink) and any residue/bubble is on the dishes, it can cause your dishwasher to break. I have no idea why but I've been really careful to make sure I wasn't using dish soap prior to putting them in the washer.

I've had 3 service calls on this dishwasher since I purchased it 3 years ago. I'm having similar service issues with my Kitchen Aid Fridge. And of course no help from Kitchen Aid.

Dishwasher clean light blinks constantly, can't get washer to start up and wash. Buttons will light up but it wont start.

Hello, Thank You for using FixYa. I will be helping you today.Try pressing heated dry,Normal,Heated dry,Normal and all lights should come on if they do wait like 5 seconds and hit cancel and see if the unit will start. If this happens again it may be a heating issue.
Thank You and please rate my answer if it was helpful..

Kitchenaid kudp02crbl1 dishwasher. Normal light is constant blink. Cancel will also go into constant blink if pushed. No other response from other buttons. I've reseated all ribbon cables. Was hoping...

Hi,

This means the touch pad sense a stuck or shorted key. Try pushing in all the keys to make sure there not stuck. If not, the touch pad needs to be replaced.

The screws around the door come out and the assembly will slide forward. All plug and play type connections and a few 1/4 screws. The repair is really straight forward. Good luck with your repair friend

Blinking "Normal" light on a Maytag model

Hi

Open the door. Within 3 seconds press the following sequence --Try pressing normal wash, heated dry, normal wash, heated dry, normal wash, heated dry three times within 6 seconds and then press cancel to reset the dishwasher. If that doesn't help then try pressing Saini Rinse, Heated Dry, Saini Rinse, Heated Dry, Saini Rinse, Heated Dry or Saini Rinse, Air Dry, Saini Rinse, Air Dry, Saini Rinse, Air Dry 3 times in 6 seconds and then the Cancel Button. Close the door and press Cancel.
Blinking lights would stop and should be able to use your dishwasher normally. If the light is still blinking try and reset the power to the dishwasher and try again. If still the light is blinking then check for the connections on the keypad, it may be due to moisture or shorted connections on keypad.

Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

Blinking normal and cancel lights

I had the same problem- needed a new control panel. good luck. Didn't bother going through kitchen aid even though its still under warranty- figured they'd nail me on labor (it's in the 2- 5 yr warranty period) and I'd be waiting forever. had a private appliance tech take care of the problem.
