Where to find gmc denali 700c owner's manual

Check eBay. Their listing between $10 - $50, but I didn't see anything for a 700C. Still, one may pop up.

My 1980 sportster back fires when started but after its running its OK.This just started what could cause this. Thanks JL

By the term "backfire",are you referring to the engine spitting back through the carburetor or popping through the exhaust system? You also didn't tell me what type of carburetor the bike is equipped with. A lot of the owners of early Sportsters didn't like the original carbs and replaced them with aftermarket carbs. Since the carburetors use different starting circuit designs, it makes a difference in how the engine is started. It really makes no difference and I've heard many bikes that do either or both of these things when starting. What does make a difference is how easily it startes and how it runs AFTER it starts. If it's simply a spit or a pop, this is not unusual. Does the bike run the way it's supposed to? If not, that's what we need to look at.

What is the gas mileage on this bike that holds 4.2 gallons? Also, how do i activate the reserve tank? Just bought this bike and didn't get a manual with it. How many miles can i ride before i need an...

You didn't say what size Star you had.
Mileage for the 650 is listed at 47mpg ---for the 1100 42.8mpg

The indicator on the petcock valve should have a P & R on it--- P, is primary, R is reserve. It's a simple design, with 2 different length pickups on it. So if you can't read the lettering on the valve. remove the fuel line going to the carbs. when your tank is low on fuel--- And you can determine how to set it. The pickup for the reserve gas will be on the back, or looking at it, right side of the valve.

The owners manual states to change oil every 4000 miles and filter every 8000
Personally, i change BOTH every 3000 miles. Clean oil is the key to keeping a V-twin engine happy and running for many miles. SAE 20w50 synthetic is what i use. I believe the manual calls for 20w40, which is fine for break in and while the bike is under warranty.
The choice is yours.

The Clymer service manual, is a handy tool to have. I recommend you get one. Ebay is a good place to find them along with Amazon....

I hope this helps & good luck with your Star...these are good bikes.

SLIPPED OUT OF FOURTH GEAR AND NOW i DONT HAVE 4TH GEAR

It could be your stifter pawl in the primary case of the engine. You'll have to pull the engine sprocket and clutch assembly to get to the shifter mechanism. This is not a complicated mechanism but it is one that has a very specific setting. I'd suggest the purchase of a Harley-Davidson factory service manual to do this job. I don't suggest this unless I feel it is a necessity to do the job if you're going to attempt it yourself. The reason is that sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words. This is one of those cases. I could type for a week and not be able to tell you how to set the shifting mechanism on your bike but a picture would show you in two seconds. I hate to tell you this but it's the best advice that I know to give you in this case. If the manual saves you from having to take the bike to a repair shop, it's paid for itself with it's first use. It's a good investment if you plan on keeping the bike.

Good Luck

I need to replace my Petcock valve on my 1980 Suzuki GS 750 L. I don't know how to replace it. I bought one off of a local bike store called Vicious Cycles Service and it doesn't look like any of...

!980 gS750l HAS A SCREW HEAD TYPE PETCOCK. IT LOOKS LIKE THE LEVEL IS MISSING BUT THAT IS THE STOCK PIECE. TWO SCREWS HOLD THE PETCOCK TO THE TANK. REMOVE THOSE AND THE PETCOCK BASICALLY FALLS OFF. YOUR NEW ONE SHOUILD HAVE AT LEAST THE SAME BASE WITH THE SAME DISTANCE BETWEEN THE SCREW HOLES.

Installing ape hangers and I have a turn signal wire kit extension. How do I remove the exsisting wires out of the clip in order to attach the extension wires

Well, you didn't say what year model bike you're working on but if the bike has the early connectors, you need a pair of special tools to "unpin" the plugs. If your bike is later than 1996, I think, it probably has Bosch type connectors. These things come apart but it's like one of those Chinese puzzles to me. I have gotten them apart but I have to figure each different one out. The service manual tells you how to get them apart. May be a site online that will tell you.

Good luck

Where cai i get an owners manual for a pro form xp 400r bike

To get an owners manual you can one of two things. First, go to www.iconservice.com in the manuals link. There you can type your model number/model name found on your machine usually on the bottom of bikes and ellipticals, and underneath the belt when the machine is in spacesaver position on treadmills. It will give you a PDF version that you can download for free. You can also call for a hardcopy but it will cost around $20 with tax and shipping. The number is 1-800-999-3756.
