Hello there.
I suggests you to reset your router by holding reset button for a few seconds, then your router user name and password are default :

  1. username: admin ; password: admin, or
  2. username: admin ; password: password

When you log in set up your router as you wish.

Sincerely,
Steve TM

Look under or in back of the router you will find a reset button press it with a paper clip or something similar for 20 seconds, that will take the router back to factory default with no security.
hope this helps have a great evening.

Can't connect Nook internet wireless

further isolate the problem:

1. is the nook the only device that can connect wirelessly?
2. Make sure that the Password or the Network key is correct.
3. turn off/on the router and the nook
4. 'forget the network' on the wifi section on the nook
5. last recourse is to change the wireless settings (WEP) or do a firmware upgrade on the router.
-note that changing wireless settings will affect all your wifi devices. this means that you need to reconnect each one of them. if you have a lot, better think twice and just call tech support for further assistance

I just purchased a Nook eBook and I need my WiFi password to make it work. How can I create and reset a new password?

I assume you already have WiFi, if you don't, I suggest going out to wal-mart and buying a cheap wireless router to get you started. Then the instructions should explain how to get the password set up.
If you already have WiFi and the problem is that you forgot your password, then this should be able to be fixed easily if you know or have not changed the password for your WiFi router. Below is a set of steps to resolve the issue. The only requirement is a computer connected to the same router via WiFi or Ethernet.
1. Open Command Prompt (in windows) or open Terminal (in Mac OSX) 2. In the command line, enter "ipconfig" and press enter. 3. Look for Default Gateway and remember the corresponding IP Address. (Format: ###.###.###.###) It might look like 192.168.2.1 but not necessarily. 4. Remember that IP Address (write it down, copy it, do something). 5. Open your favorite web browser and enter that IP Address into the URL box. 6. This should ask you login, if it doesn't, skip step 7. 7. use the username that you set up the router with, or if you didn't change it, try using "admin" as the username and "admin" as the password. Try not using a password. If you still can't figure it out, use google to try and find the default password for your brand of router. 8. Once logged in, you can restore factory settings, or change your WiFi Password.

Having more information would have been helpful. (Aka - Router Brand, Is it your router, are any computers connected to it) Hope this was helpful.

This seems to be a common issue for that particular router with the Nook Color reader. Most people end up fixing the problem be either turning off n support, changing the security to WEP instead of WPA/WPA2 PSK or changing the firmware on the router to DD-WRT which is a Linux based alternative OpenSource firmware suitable for a vast majority of WLAN routers on the market

I recently bought a new book and my nook wont let me view it it keeps telling me to put in my name and credit card number

In order to start using your Nook, you'll need to register it through the Barnes & Noble website - I've shared the steps below. Once you've registered it, you will be able to start purchasing and reading books. Please note that you will need to set-up a B&N.com account first. That is done on BN.com and simply click "new user account." Once you have set that up, follow the below Nook set-up steps.
NOOK Set-Up Steps
  1. Charge your new NOOK 3G or NOOK Wi-Fi for 3-hours from a wall outlet using the Power Adapter and USB Cable packed at the bottom of your NOOK box.
  2. Turn on your NOOK by pressing the power button at the top.
  3. Connect to Wi-Fi.
  4. Register your device by entering your BN.com account email.
  5. Tap the down arrow button in the lower right corner of your color touchscreen.
  6. Enter your BN.com password.
  7. Tap Submit

I cannot connect the nook using Dlink 514. Trying to correct the problem but I do not remember my dlink user name and password. Can you help? The nook shows that it is connected to WiFi. But nothing will...

If you do not remember your user name and password then try reseting the router (there's a reset button on the back of the router, press and hold it for about 30 seconds), the use the default user name and password: default user name: user default password: (none, leave this field blank) Once you are in the routers firmware change your setting to what you want them to be and make sure you write them down, save them somewhere safe!
good luck!

If this is a new item that you just got, your router will not recognize it automatically, you will need to refresh the settings on the router to acknowledge the item so it will update its settings and then you should be able to reconnect your nook to the router. Some cases you will need to manually add your device to your home network if it doesnt automatically recognize the nook. Hope this helps!

My nook wont connect to my linksys router. tech for nook said that linksys has a N connection and nook has a G connection. Can you fix the problem.

Go to your router setup page in Internet explorer. 192.168.1.1
If default leave user name blank and password is admin.
Click on Wireless and in the basic wireless setting there is a tab that says
wireless network mode. Set the mode to MIXED, save settings and try to connect.

Need a WEP Key to network in my husband's new Christmas Nook.

If your husband set up the network he will have set the WEP key (basically its a password). You can either ask for the network password from him or you can just let him put it in when he gets the "nook"
