Try opening up the camera application on your computer to see if it will come up, if not, right-click my computer - click manage - click device manager - click on cameras or imaging devices in list - right-click on the camera device and click on uninstall - then reboot computer - when you log back in Windows will find the device and want to install drivers for it - click through device install wizard to install automatically.

hope this helps

Do you have any other Instant Messenger accounts? Look to see if another IM is loaded and has grabbed the webcam.

Sir,my pc has an slot for webcam.but i cant access it.errow showing no webcam.please mention if i have athe webcam or not my model no is-HP G56 XG603UA ABA NOTEBOOK PC

The HP G56 laptop model has a webcam installed "On Select" systems, meaning you MAY or MAY NOT have one. Many laptop computers with webcams "On Select" systems will have the slot for a webcam, or appear to have a webcam, even if they do not. It's for no other reason than standardization of the laptop case; the screen bezel to be exact.
An easy way to check if your computer has a webcam (Or may it be the case that it's simply a slot where a webcam could be placed) if you have a Facebook account try this:
Sign into Facebook. View your own profile. Select upload photo, and select "Upload from Webcam".
Facebook's built in webcam support will initialize a webcam even if the proper software is not installed on your computer.
You can also go to the "Start" menu, select "Run", type in "DEVMGMT.MSC", hit enter. This is a list off all installed devices on your computer; You should find your webcam here.

I am trying to take a picture for my facebook profile picture and i am using the built in webcam on my U135DX i am not sure exactly how to take a picture. Please help

You can actually go into facebook and select "take a photo" from the status updates. From there you can select "take a photo with my webcam" and it'll turn your webcam on after asking you permission to access it. From there you can take a photo! It's nice and easy that way.

I've got a new HP laptop with built in web cam (youcam). Everytime I go to use though; it's always a couple seconds off. I move and a couple seconds later the video moves. My voice is also off with the...

Are you using it along with other heavy programs? Example running webcam + playing a game or something/facebook games? This uses up the memory and will slow down your webcam.

Are you experancing it only when your webcaming someone? Example, skype webcaming, depending on your internet speed you will see a lag in the video.

Help I have a webcam built-in to my fujitsu laptop, how does it turn on??

Webcams are either started by their specific programs or they are used by the IMs that you use. To use with the IM you must configure the IM (Skype, Yahoo Messenger, MSN or whatever you have) from their respective Tools->Options->Video to use this webcam as the default camera. Also in the Audio option you must use the built in mic of this laptop as the default mic.
Once you have done this then everytime you use the IM for video talk or just talk then the webcam and mic or just the mic will be used automatically.
While if you use the specific program to use the webcam then the webcam and mic will be used without any configuration. However, you must configure things like mirroring and colors etc so that when you move to the left the video should show you moving left and not otherwise.
Happy Holidays.

I cant connect with facebook or FarmVille on facebook, I can get into the Cafe but that is all.

The solutions for this is that you need to wait about 5 to 10 minutes. With websites like facebook and myspace. If there is alot of people on these site at once it can provent you from using the website at the same rate and can not allow you to use certain functions. Hope this helps you. Thank you for using Fixya.

Can't use the built in cam for Yahoo Messenger.

Some webcams have this problem in combination with Yahoo.
I was able to fix this by using a program called SplitCam. I allows for webcam sharing, but it also is compatible with most webcams. You can install it and then use that as the video source in Yahoo.
I found a nice description about using SplitCam for this.

Hope it works for you.

How do I use the built in webcam for a video in a phone conversation

You'll need to use a software that has video conferencing capabilities. There are some that are specific to video meetings like oovoo or you can use IM software. I know that Yahoo Chat allows for video chatting, I've done this on my HP laptop with my sister. Facebook has a video link option, I've never used that one though so I don't know if it allows you to record using Facebook or if you have to upload a video already recorded.
