Hi there walkinman86

fuel / oil ratio is 25:1 that is 40 mils of oil for every 1.0 litre that you mix

use top quality 2 stroke oil though

UT10625C: fuel mixture ratio?

First 2-cycle additive motor oil stays fresh for about 12 months. If other than Homelite oil is used it is suggested that a mix of 16:1, which is 1 gallon of gas to 8 oz. of the mix.I got this information out of my homelite manual. The best rule of thumb is that you want the chainsaw to smoke alittle while running. That way you are sure that the motor is being lubed.

I cannot locate my owners manual and have not used the Homelite Ranger 16 inch in quite some time --- What is the fuel and oil requirement??

most 2 stroke Homelite chainsaws run on a fuel/oil mix of 50:1 --- But on some older model saws they say to use 40:1 mix.
I own several 2 stroke machines and I use 50:1 on everything and they all run fine ( even when they say 40:1 ).

I HAVE A HOMELITE XL2 CHAINSAW WITH A 12 INCH BAR, CAN I INCREASE THE BAR TO A 14 OR 16 INCH BAR.

Usually, yes. Take the saw to a service dealer who can fit a longer bar and proper length chain. You will need to keep the chain properly sharpened and adjusted to prevent extra load on the engine. Hope this helps!

Homelite 10540 chainsaw 35CC chainsaw won't start when hot

Go to: http://www.drystacked com for a 12 page article on Walbro carburetor theory and troubleshooting. Check particularly, the position of the gasket in the lower chamber. Check the spark plug for blue, snappy spark when the engine is hot. If ok, place a small amount of fuel mix in the cylinder and try for start. If it pops several times, look to the fuel system. Check the fuel filter, air filter, and muffler for plugging. Does the primer bulb fill with fuel after several pumps? Check the fuel lines for decay or other damage. When the engine is hot, try not using the choke, but set the fast idle. Hope some of this helps!

Why will homelite 290 chainsaw not start?

Make sure you have blue, snappy spark at the plug (set at 0.020"). If ok, put some fuel mix in the plug hole and try to start--it should pop several times. If pops, then check the fuel system. Check the fuel filter, air filter, and muffler for plugging. Check the fuel lines for decay or other damage. Make sure the carburetor fasteners are tight. Go to: http://www.drystacked.com for a 12 page article on Walbro brand carburetors for theory and troubleshooting. Be sure to check the placement of the gasket in the lower chamber. Hope this helps!
