Car stereo wont work

I have a Clarion DRX6575z in a dodge Dakota 2001. I removed the factory stereo and put a wiring harness on the clarion and installed it. The stereo worked fine until i turned off the truck, and when i turned it back on the light would not work but would still play. i woke up the next morning and it came on again with no light, went to put in a cd and now the stereo wont work at all. i then tried to put the old stereo back in but it would not work either. i proceeded to check the fuses and nothing is blown that i can see. WHATS WRONG? -Desperate for music-

Check all the connections with an analogue multimeter set to 12 volt dc.You should get fsd at all points. There is no doubt that you have an intermittent fault on the wiring. However, there is a slim possibility that this fault may, in turn, have caused damage to the clarion. If you cannot find a fault on the wiring, then consult a repair manual (available to download) to see whether or not there is a fuse inside the clarion. If there is one fitted, check that to see if it is blown. If thate above does not sokve the problem you are welcome to email me for further help on [email protected]. But I think fokkowing the above advice shoukd solve you lack of sounds in your car. All the best

Trying to put a Clarion PF3494 into a 2001 Subaru Outback, but can't find ISO adapter for connectors on PF3494

It sounds like you are trying to install a Clarion PF3494 head unit into a 2001 Subaru Outback and you have run into compatibility issues. The Aerpro APP8CLA4 adapter you bought does not seem to fit your head unit.
In this situation, you have a few options:
  1. Look for a custom installation kit: Some car audio retailers offer custom installation kits specifically designed for your make and model of car. You may be able to find a kit that includes the necessary wiring harness and adapter for the Clarion PF3494.
  2. Check the Clarion website: Clarion may have information on their website about the wiring harness and adapter required for your specific head unit and vehicle.
  3. Contact a professional installer: A professional car audio installer may be able to help you find the correct wiring harness and adapter for your head unit and vehicle, or they may be able to custom build the necessary wiring for you.
I recommend contacting a professional installer if you do not feel confident wiring the plugs yourself, as incorrect wiring can cause damage to your head unit and vehicle.
If you can provide the specific information about the pins and connections of the Clarion PF3494, I may be able to assist you further.

Installing a clarion cz309 into a VW golf 2001. I have used the supplied plugs to connect to my car and everything works well apart from not having constant power. every time i turn car off it...

I believe the wire in factory harness for constant power to stereo should be red /white. If that for some reason is not correct and you've tested that, Then I'd simply run an extra wire back to fuse panel to an open cavity that has constant power, or if all else fails, go directly to power control center, or battery if necessary, and add an inline fuse for precaution.

I need a wiring diagram for a Mitsubishi Stereo DX-262AL. I want to replace it with a Clarion CD stereo, which I need to "marry" to the existing DX-262AL car loom. Any help much appreciated.

Hi there,

Option 1: If you haven't purchased any components yet.

If your Mitsubishi still has the original OEM (factory) wiring loom, then the newest method of connecting an aftermarket head unit (i.e. Clarion) is by using a 'snap-on' adaptor harness which eliminates the need for any cutting/joining/soldering.

The adaptor you want is the Mitsubishi-to-Clarion type: one end of the adaptor has the Mitsubishi (female) plug and the other has the Clarion (female) plug.

These adaptor looms can be purchased from most automotive accessory shops, or you can purchase very cheaply online from Ebay.

Check this link (this is the Clarion MAW2-16 adaptor for 1995-2004 Mitsubishi vehicles) @ USD $1 + $11 shipping (Note: the Year of your vehicle will determine which harness you require):

Option 2: the hard way

If you REALLY want to do it the hard way and start cutting wires, then here is the wiring colour codes:

EARLY MITSUBISHI AUDIO CONNECTORS:

LATER MITSUBISHI AUDIO CONNECTOR (SINGLE TYPE):

I trust this answers your question? :-)

I found this manual online ..... it is not the exact model number, but it is the same make ......... could be similar enough.

Subwoofer istalation into a clarion DXZ375MP stereo

The DXZ375 has two sets of RCA outputs (1 red plug, 1 white plug) located on the back of the unit. The set with the white main wire is for a front amplifier, and the one with the black main wire is the rear. You want the black one.

I'm assuming you also have an amplifier for your subs and the necessary wiring. You will need to run a 12v+ from the battery to the amplifier, splice a power-on signal wire from the ACC Power wire on the stereo's wiring harness (red wire) as well as connect the amp to the stereo via the RCA outputs.

Installed a clarion radio it powers up but no music thru speakers

sounds like a short in your wiring to your speakers the best thing to do to check this is run a speaker wire directly to the speaker from the stereo check it that way and see if it works. If that don't work it's the wires on the stereo connection. The speaker wires on most aftermarket stereos are mostly colored 2 of each green, purple, white & grey.

INSTALLING A CLARION MODEL DRX6375 CAR STEREO INTO MY HONDA ACCORD 1995

If you go to your local stereo shop (or even Wal-Mart..) you can get the harness that plugs directly into your cars wiring for about $5-10. It will have the EXACT same wire colors as the harness that came with the Clarion. Just match them up, plug it in and you're good to go!
