Can,t get a picture when i try to play a dvd

Did you check the video connection between the DVD player and the TV (or monitor)? Or is this a portable DVD player with its own display? Did you make sure the DVD was inserted label-side up? What information is the DVD giving you? Are you using a remote? Did you try playing it with commands directly on the face of the DVD player?

Does Magnavox mdv 2100/F7 dvd player have front panel display

Hello
This DVD player has no front panel display. Its front panel have ony two LED light indications, out of which, one is for power On indication and the other for p-scan [Progressive Scan] which will ight up when you select Progressive Scan function.
There are three push button switches, for Open/Close, Play & Stop.
It has only ON-Screen display system, which will be active only after connection the DVD player to tV. OK.

Jammed disc in dvd player

Unplug it from power, unscrew the cover shell remove it, then by releasing the front face you will expose the DVD player, look under the player tray you will be able to see the gear which move the tray in-Up and Down-out. Turn with your finger either right or left.
Good luck.

I cant get the dvd drawer to ope!n

I unscrewed the cover, opened it up and wiggled the dvd and the drawer around and plugged it back in to make sure it worked before I closed it up again.  Fairly easy

DVD player won't play

Make sure you have inserted the correctly; the label faces away from the TV/DVD player.

Toshiba SD-K850 does not open

Unplug the unit for 10 minutes, then plug it in and try again. I just had the same problem after our main power went off and on a few times (during a storm). If that didn't work and you don't plan on servicing it, before you "recycle" it, unplug it & drop it from about 3 to 4 inches from the "carpet". It may just have some crude stopping up the mechanism. Continue to increase the height of the drop untill you REALLY do have to recycle it :)

When I turn on LG 1888H dvd recorder, it just says please wait but nothing happens. Can it be a HD problem?

Your DVD loader (DVD player) has some kind of malfunction. (dirty lens, bad build, etc...)
Just stick a new PC IDE DVD player in it and it will start working. I had the same problem.
I used a lite on made in 2004 and the RH1888 works prefect, but does not look perfect. The drive is won't work in conjunction with a it's original face panel.
I blue tacked the display on the top of the chassis, and got the big ol' lite-on drive sticking out front, but it works perfectly.
Good Luck!

No Display When Face Is Put On Unit

the same sort of thing happens to my unit.. try cleaning the electrical contacts on the back of the face-plate and the front of the "bare" head unit. Be careful not to bend any of the pins. a pencil eraser works well to get light oxidation up.. you can go over the contacts with a q-tip and some alcohol to do a final cleaning also.. make sure the car is off while you do this. Also, with my face plate, if the display is off after attaching it, pushing on the right side of it (gently but firmly) will get the lights and display to come on.. it seems to stay lit after I do that. hope it helps.

Screen is completely black

There is a switch on the right side of the unit labelled Video Out (switch facing front of unit) or TFT On (switch facing rear of unit). First make sure that the switch is on TFT on. If it is then switch to Video out and then back to TFT On. This made our screen starting displaying again when it was black.

DVD got stuck

I've seen complaints that there is no manual eject. There is. Unplug. Facing the front of the player, and lifting it up above your head, look under where the disc sits. You will see a number of slits that look like ventilation slits. There is one asymmetrical slit on its own, somewhat towards the front, and somewhat towards the right (if memory serves). The slit is about 3/4 of an inch long. Insert a slotted screwdriver on the extreme right end of the slit (still we're facing the front) side of that slot (a narrow shaft might help, but it doesn't have to go very far in). It should sound like it hits plastic. If not, you may have the wrong slot and you may have shorted things out (I suppose an electrician's plastic screwdriver, or a chopstick shaved into screwdriver shape, would work better). Then slide the screwdriver to the left. You should hear/feel unlatching noises, and the front of the loader should wiggle, and you should then be able to pry it forward (maybe using a screwdriver for leverage) and pull out the disc. When the player dies, it would be nice if it didn't take your--or worse not your--DVD with it.
