Hi spudguard,

If you've tried resetting any electronic controls (including disconnect from power for at least 10 minutes), it's probably more involved than most consumers want to handle.

I'd go to Zojirushi's Support page at (TinyURL'd for brevity)

There's a Service & Support link at the top of the page - locations of service centers and the like.

You can also call Zojirushi Customer Service Department - -

800-733-6270, M-F, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. PST.

Also here's a TinyURL for the manual download page, just so you have it.

If these don't pan-out (no pun intended, I think), the next place I'd start hunting is eBay.

If I can be of further assistance, let me know. If this solves the issue, please rate it accordingly.

Thanks in-advance for using,

It's best to follow your manual as there are specific steps to be followed at specific times. First you add liquids (water, oil, etc.), then sugar and salt, then flour and finally yeast as the last ingredient. (Don't let the yeast come in contact with the liquids or salt).
When my wife & I make bread, we usually mix in a little additional bread yeast just to make certain everything g goes well. Make certain your water is at room temperature, not too hot, nor too cold.
Next place the baking pan into the machine, locking it in place.
Plug the bread maker in and you get a signal beep and program 1 appears in the display. You can set the browning level at this time. You can also set a delay for up to 15 hours before starting if you wish.
Press start and the machine starts to mix and then kneed the mix. It will start, stop, start again, etc. Just let it do it's thing until it beeps 10 times and the display reads 0:00.
Take it out, be careful, it will be hot.

I don't know which Silvercrest you have, but if you don't have a manual, here's one you can download. Should be near enough to yours to get you through your first loaf.

Breadman breadmaker

Many bread machines won't allow you to start them until they have completely cooled off. That is because the makers know that a hot machine will effect the yeast too early if the machine is too hot. Always open the lid on your machine and let it cool for 30 mins. before starting another loaf.

Lights are on, machine won't start

These types of machines ( I call them the R2-D2 models) are classics. The settings required are unusual and can be difficult at first. NOTHING will work until you plug your machine in and set the clock on your machine. Follow the instructions in your manual to do that before attempting bake settings. How do I turn off the delay timer? When I set it up, the timer automatically sets it on a 3 hour delay. I have moved the up & down arrows but it won't set at 00:00 unless I unplug it. Then I set...

No offense intended but you need to step away and read the instruction manual step-by-step. One point I can make: The three hours you're seeing in the display when you first plug the unit in are simply telling you how long the default white bread mode is going to take to complete. It's merely a counter that counts down so at any time you glance over at the machine you'll know how much longer it's going to be before the bread is finished. The digital display has NOTHING to do with the delay timer until you start pressing delay timer arrows.

Hope this helps!

H:E3 showing in digital

After starting, the Display Window flashes "H:E3"

If the Bread Machine is too hot, it will not start because of an automatic safety feature.

Remove the Pan and let the Bread Machine cool down until "H:E3" disappears and the selection reappears.

You may then start the cycle.

My Breadman tr333 gave error message H:E3 and stopped - what does this mean?

This error message means that the bread-maker is too hot. This machine has a cut-off switch and won't start until it cools down sufficiently. Wait a while, then try restarting.

It will not start within the 15 minute time, or even 20 min. time

I think the problem may be that when you start your machine you are holding the start button down too long and if so then the program you selected will be cleared. It will still show the settings you selected on the face of the machine, but in effect it has been cleared, so you need to start again.

Holding the start button down for 3 seconds will clear all the settings even though it looks like the settings are still in process, but the machine just won't start.

When you reset from the settings displayed you will have to scroll through all of the settings to come full circle to your original setting again.

When you start your settings DON'T hold the start button down for longer than a will hear the start beep and be on your way! Good Baking!
