Question about Pioneer CDJ-800 Turntable

Open Question

My cdj 800 MK2 turns itself off, I keep having to turn it off and on a million times before it starts performing normal. I got an error code, E-8706 (or E-8709, it was visible for a short time and didn't come back. The problem did, however). I can not find that particulair error code anywhere.. Do you know what the problem is? I use my decks in combination with Traktor Scratch, but it has the same problem when I play CD's.

SOURCE: cdj 800 keeps skipping

Does it keep skipping, or does it keep looping? 2 very different things. If it's skipping, it will sound like it's scratched, and will only skip on some CDs, and not others - unless your tray is messed up.

SOURCE: error e-8709

PROBLEM SOLVED!!!! I had the same problem and what I did to figure out the problem was to take parts out of my good cd player and test it on the one with the error E-8709 ... After much testing I came to find out the problem was due to the MAIN PCB Assy which costs $181.51 + shipping. I was able to find this part at

To replace this part is very easy, just remove all the screws from the bottom of your CDJ 800 MK2 since it's right under the metal sheet in the bottom of your player.

Good Luck!!!

Cdj 800 not reading disc until warmed up

Downtown Radio was one of my Authorized Service Centers when I worked for Pioneer. They are no longer in business. The issue that Nathan is having, is quite different than a loss of power or ground, caused by an bad IC Protector, which is merely a complicated fuse. Unfortunately, I think you damaged the Optical Pickup(laser) when you installed it. This part, as well as most parts in this unit, are ESD sensitive and without taking the precautions, that pickup may be useless now. For more information, please visit my website at You may contact me directly through the website. Thank you.

CDJ800MK2 problems

Code E-8380 is a read error. Either the CD tray itself is stucked/jammed, or the Play switch is not sending the correct signal to the CD amp.

In either case, professional assistance is required.

No sound from CDJ-800 MK2

Are you getting error messages? Running in thru LINE? Is not on mute? The possiblity of both not playing would lead to process of elimination.

Keep me posted.
