Some are compatible with MAC 0S X.

Here is the link for drivers
http://www.lexmark.com/lexmark/sequentialem/home/0,6959,204816596_666691854_1177082303_en,00.html

If yours is not listed, then perhaps you should contact them and find out if there is a patch or a new driver available. In the meantime I will look for info elsewhere.

My lexmark printer is not printing from the computer. i have windows 7 on my computer . could it be that it is not compatible with windows 7?

You are correct this printer is not supported under Windows 7. There are workarounds that may work if you want to try them.

First option is the compatibility mode. To try this, download the driver for an older OS version from the Lexmark site, http://support.lexmark.com/index?locale=EN&page=product&userlocale=EN_US&productCode=LEXMARK_X125&focusedTab=DOWNLOADS#1 , and right click on the installer. Then choose Properties and then the Compatibility tab. Turn on Run program as Compatible with the appropriate OS. Then right click again on the installer and choose Run as Administrator. Then check if the program itself is running in the compatibility mode by right clicking again and choosing Properties. This is more likely to work if you have Windows 7 32-bit. I do not know if this will work for your specific printer.

A method that will work is to use a computer (virtual, dual-boot, or true second machine) with an older version of Windows installed. If you have Win7 Pro or Ultimate, you can create a virtual XP computer for free. Download and install Virtual PC and XP mode from Microsoft. Install them in order. Then install the XP software from the above site in the virtual computer and it will work. (Other virtual computer programs are Parallels and VMWare.) All of the other options will require a licensed version of the older Windows OS. Please note that the virtual computer can't share files directly with the main computer. You'll need to save files to external or removable media (optical media or flash drive, for example) to share them.

I hope this helps.

I have Mavis Beacon teaches typing cd and I am trying to install it on windows 7 but it wont install i can only read the manual that adobe lets me, my questions is how do i download the program to windows...

What version of the typing program do you have? You have a few choices, depending on what OS runs the version you have.

If the program ran under Vista or XP (version 20 lists Vista compatibility), the compatibility mode is likely to work. For this, right click on the installer. Then choose Properties and then the Compatibility tab. Turn on Run program as Compatible with the appropriate OS. Then right click again on the installer and choose Run as Administrator. Then check if the program itself is running in the compatibility mode by right clicking again and choosing Properties.

If the compatibility mode doesn't work (for older versions of the software), you can use a computer (virtual, dual-boot, or true second machine) with an older version of Windows installed. If you have Win7 Pro or Ultimate, you can create a virtual XP computer for free. Download and install Virtual PC and XP mode from Microsoft. Install them in order. Then install the XP software on the virtual computer and it will work. (Other virtual computer programs are Parallels and VMWare.) All of the other options will require a licensed version of the older Windows OS. Please note that the virtual computer can't share files directly with the main computer. You'll need to save files to external or removable media (optical media or flash drive, for example) to share them.

Your final option is to upgrade to the current version. The 25th Anniversary edition runs under Windows 7. Other editions are not listed as compatible at the Broderbund site. You can try the Microsoft Windows 7 Compatibility Center for more information on tested software. My ISP is slow to connect to the site.

I hope this helps.

I have a HPMedia Center PC. The MFC 5440cn does not appear to be compatible with it. Is this true?

I would be very surprise if your HP did not support Brother printers in general!

If you are running windows, including windows 7, you will find the required Windows drivers at Brother Solution Center web site.

The following official Brother site link will assist you:
http://welcome.solutions.brother.com/BSC/public/eu/eu_ot/en/model_top/colormfc/mfc5440cn_all.html?reg=eu&c=eu_ot&lang=en&prod=mfc5440cn_all

Hope it helps.

Is the lexmark x1150 printer compatible with any computer. I have a hewlett packard

Yes, The printer drivers are determined by the operation system therefore it does not matter what brand of computer. If you have the disk that came with the printer you can load the drivers on your HP computer. If not you can go to the link below and select your operating system and download the current driver.

DOES THE VERBATIM HARD DRIVE NEED TO BE FORMATED?

Many Verbatim hard drive models with a FireWire interface come “Mac formatted” – pre-formatted for immediate use with Apple Macintosh computers running Mac OS. They are formatted as HFS+, the preferred format when using the drive exclusively with Mac OS computers.
Note: A Mac-formatted drive will not mount on a Windows PC.
If you plan to use a Mac-formatted hard drive only with computers running Mac OS, you can leave it formatted as it comes from the factory. However, if you plan to use your hard drive with computers running Windows, or with both Mac OS and Windows computers, you should reformat your Verbatim hard drive before saving data to it. Generally, for use with both Mac OS and Windows you should format to FAT32, and for use strictly with Windows you should format to NTFS. More information about these two format types is given below.
FAT32 FAT32 is compatible with the following Windows operating systems: Windows 98, Windows 98 SE, Windows Me, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista. FAT32 can also be read by Apple Macintosh computers running Mac OS.
Limitations: Maximum file size is limited to 4TB. Furthermore, using the formatting tools included with Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows Vista users will not be able to create partition sizes larger than 32GB (though they can access these larger partitions). This limitation does not apply to other supported operating systems. Furthermore, Verbatim provides a FAT32 format utility (see further below for download instructions) that eliminates the 32GB partition limitation.
FAT32 is a good choice if you’ll be using your Verbatim hard drive with older computers running Windows 98, Windows 98 SE, or Windows Me, or if you’ll be using it with both Windows and Mac OS computers.
NTFS NTFS is compatible with the following Windows operating systems: Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Vista. NTFS usually results in higher performance than FAT32, and will permit users to create partition sizes larger than 32GB, and file sizes larger than 4TB.
Limitations: NTFS is not compatible with Windows 98, Windows 98 SE, Windows Me, or Apple Macintosh computers running Mac OS.
NTFS is a good choice if you will be using your Verbatim hard drive only with one or more computers running Windows XP, Windows 2000 or Windows Vista. This is also a good choice if you plan to store files larger than 4TB, such as digital video files.

Problem with compatability

Some are compatible with MAC OS X. There is a list of available drivers on the Lexmark site. Choose the operating system on the left and then search for your printer and driver. I don't see it there, however, you might contact Lexmark through the link on the site and ask them. Be sure to give them full details on your printer and your Op system, etc.
