Well, sometimes it costs you no penny to get back or reset your lost Windows password actually. Don't believe it? Just have a try of the following free Windows password recovery solutions if you forgot Windows password to your computer.<br /> 1. Ophcrack LiveCDMany free Windows password recovery tool are supposed to help you get back in computer if one<span> </span><a href="http://www.passwordunlocker.com/knowledge/forgot-windows-password.html">forgot Windows password</a><span> </span>for your computer. In reality, some users resort to free Windows password recovery tool to unlock their PC, like Ophcrack. Ophcrack LiveCD is a completely self contained, bootable version of Ophcrack. Ophcrack LiveCD is the easiest and most effective Windows password recovery freeware that I've ever found to "crack" your forgotten Windows password.<br />Since you can't login your Windows PC because you lost the password, so first you'll need to visit Ophcrack's website to download ophcrack LiveCD. Please make sure that if you've forgotten Windows 7 password or Vista password, click on ophcrack Vista LiveCD. If you've forgotten XP password, click on ophcrack XP LiveCD.<br /> 2. Cain & AbelUnlike Ophcrack and other popular Windows password recovery programs,<b><span> </span>Cain & Abel</b><span> </span>requires access to Windows under an administrator account. In fact, Cain & Abel is a bit more complicated to use than other password recovery tools which is usually unavailable for Windows Vista as is said.<br />If you have no way of getting in to your Windows PC, you will not be able to use Cain & Abel to recover your password. Moreover, before you can use Cain & Abel, you'll need to download a rainbow table. These large databases of passwords are required so Cain & Abel can reset the forgotten windows password.<br /> 3. Available Admin AccountIt's well known that Windows administrator users have rights to change password of other user account on the same computer. So if you forgot password of the user account, just enter your administrator account and do as follows:<br /> <ul> <li>1. Press F8 to enter the<span> </span><b>Advanced Boot Options</b><span> </span>when booting your PC.</li> <li>2. Windows Password Reset DiskIt is considered the easiest way to reset Windows password when you are forbiddened to access your laptop with protected password. However, many of us haven't enough consciousness on creating a Windows password reset disk before they lost the password.<br /> <ul> <li>1. Type a wrong password on the Windows logon screen.</li> <li>2. Click<span> </span><b>OK</b><span> </span>when Windows displays a message that the password is incorrect and "Reset password" link will appear.</li> <li>3. Click<span> </span><b>Reset password</b><span> </span>to pop up Password Reset Wizard screen, and then click<span> </span><b>Next</b>.</li> <li>4. Follow the steps in the Password Reset Wizard to create a new password.</li></ul><b>Note:</b>This solution takes effect provided you have created a Windows password reset disk for your Windows account in advance.<br /> 5. Typing Ctrl + Alt + Del (Only Under Windows XP)This option is only for Windows XP. Furthermore, the default administrator account on Windows XP is enabled and not password protected by default, which is disabled by default on Windows 7 and Vista.<br /> <ul> <li>1. Turn on your Windows XP machine and go to its logon screen.</li> <li>2. Press<span> </span><b>Ctrl+ Alt +Del</b><span> </span>twice to pop up the classic logon box.</li> <li>3. Also you can create a system repair disc as below:<br /> <ul> <li>1. Click the Start -&gt; Control Panel -&gt; System and Security -&gt; Backup and Restore.</li> <li>2. Windows-based PCs b> Plug your iPod into your computer to open iTunes; if it doesn't automatically open, open it manually. A window will pop up on your computer asking you if you want to sync the contents of your iPod with the contents of your iTunes library. Click cancel. In the iTunes source list, choose the iPod, and make sure that you have selected the Summary tab in iTunes' main window. Open up the My Computer icon from either your desktop or the Start menu, and select your iPod from the window. In the My Computer window, open up the Tool menu and click on Folder Options. This will open up another window. Choose the View tab, and find the heading for Hidden Files and Folders. Click on the button that says "Show Hidden Files and Folders," then click the "Apply" button at the bottom of the Window. Close the Folder Options window. Find the iPod's icon on the desktop and double-click it. This will open more folders in the iPod window. Find the folder called iPod_control and double-click it. Now you will have a number of folders to choose from. Locate the music folder, and drag it to the main desktop so that it's copied to your computer. When the Music folder is on the desktop, right-click on it. From the window that appears, choose "Properties." In the Attributes area of the General tab, uncheck the Hidden option, and then click "Apply." A window will appear that will ask you to confirm the attribute changes. Make sure the box next to the Apply Changes to this Folder, Subfolders, and Files option is checked, and then click OK. Drag the folder and its contents into the iTunes library.

MY DVD-RAM is not appearing in MY COMPUTER but seems okay though. I can't access, it doesn't appear but it boots from start up like putting booting cd to it seems okay. I do not know exactly what...

Okay you tried using 'regedit.exe. Now try this;

Left-click on Start, then right-click on My Computer. (Windows logo button, Computer, for Vista and Win7)

Left-click on Properties at the bottom of the fly-out menu.
Left-click on the Hardware tab.
Left-click on Device Manager.

When Device Manager loads, left-click on DVD/CD-ROM drives.
Right-click on Mashita DVD-ROM U870BJ

(Yes I know you have been to Device Manager. Just wanted to make sure all i's are dotted, and t's are crossed)

Left-click on Properties.
Now left-click on the Driver tab.
Left-click on Uninstall.

A Microsoft 'squawk box' will come up.
"Warning you are about to uninstall this device.
It's okay. Left-click on OK.

Close ALL windows, go back to your desktop screen.
Shut the computer down normally. (NOT restart)

Wait 1 minute, turn the computer on.
When Windows has fully loaded you should get a pop-up out of the system tray,
"Found new hardware".

And perhaps another pop-up, "Found Mashita DVD-ROM device"

Post back your findings in a Comment.

Configure keyboard buttons

Status: No need for registry backup, the 1.1 version of the software allows you to delete all key modifications within it, in order to return your keyboard to normal.

I came across a nice utility for changing keyboard keys in Windows. It's called Sharpkeys. Basically, you open the program, select which keyboard key you want to change (such as Left Alt), and choose what key you want it to actually be (such as Left CTRL). Here's the website:

http://www.randyrants.com/sharpkeys/

On the 7405gx, it will do all of the keys except for the Function key and the special hotkeys that control volume, mail, etc. For example, I assigned the "'\" key to the left of the spacebar to be "Left Alt" and the left alt button to be "Left CTRL", because those keys are more natural for my fingers to press. Physically the keys look the same, but their functions are now different.

Once you've installed the program, open it and you will see a black screen with green text and some buttons. To add a new key assignment, do the following:

1. Click the "Add" button
2. To select which key will be changed, click on the "Type Key" button on the left under "Map this key (From key):" and click the "OK" button OR select the key from the list.
3. To change what character is actually typed when you press the key, do the same as #2 except choose the "Type Key" button the right under "To this key (To key):"
4. Click the "OK" button.
5. Click the "Write to registry" button.
6. Click the "Close" button.
7. Restart your computer or logout. When you load back up, the key changes will be in effect.

You can revert to the original state by clicking the "Delete all" button.

This is a neat program because you can change your laptop keyboard keys to do whatever you want. Please post any comments, questions, or suggestions and I will update this post as necessary.

As odd as this may sound, it sounds like a problem in your keyboard. Make sure the volume button(s) or mute button is not partially depressed and stuck, and hasn't had anything spilled in/on it. If it's not that, you've probably got bigger issues that are going to take some qualified repair work, like parts swaps.

If not, you may need to format it.

Right Click on 'My Computer'
-Select Manage from the menu
-On the next window, Select 'Disk Management'
-You should see an empty volume which is the USB drive
-Right click on the Grey box and select Initialize, or Format
-Defaults for NTFS are fine.
