Information you should provide to get fast and efficient solution.

1- what is your OS (win xp, vista, 7 or nay other)?
2- Is the wireless card installed?
3- Is it on?

Answer those questions and you get the solution.

Just curious have you check that the drivers are installed? just navigate to device manager . right click on my computer choose properties then hardware tab and press the button that says device manager. is the wireless adapter listed with the either net under network? and if so is there any ? marks or ! marks over it. if so there are hardware driver issues, if there is no wireless adapter listed and you see unknown device then the driver probably is not installed. alternatively you can just add a usb wireless adapter which should work even better than internal one. here are the drivers for that model L505d I would download and reinstall it to make sure its just the driver.

Can't connect my compaq to TalkTalk wifi

Hello,

Have you tried using a different gadget or computer that has the ability to connect to the internet wirelessly? If all connect without any problem, then you just need to update the device driver of your compaq. You can either update the drivers manually or you can do it automatically (recommended) so that you can get the correct drivers. You can use RadarSync to make it automated.

By the way, if all other gadgets and computers do not connect wirelessly then contact talk talk.

I hope this helps!

Can't configure the network with ethernet cable

Hey, you're almost there. The connection between the no-wireless PC over ethernet to the DAP-1360 Repeater is fine. The reason it can't connect to your LAN or the internet, however, is that the repeater isn't actually repeating your Ofir network, it is instead creating it's own, completely isolated wireless network (Ofir_EXT).

The D-Link setup and documentation is confusing, and doesn't have proper instructions for the repeater setup.

Rerun the setup wizard, setup as a repeater, then select manual configuration method.

Now, enter the wireless network name of your the network you want to extend (in this case, Ofir). Then enter the same security and password etc. for Ofir in the following fields, just like you were connecting to Ofir from a smartphone or laptop.
Once that is finished, you should be up and running. If things worked, you should NOT see any new wireless network. There should be Ofir and just Ofir. Wireless repeaters work invisibly, you'll still connect to the same network like you always did, but now it will have much improved range thanks to the DAP-1360. The computer entherneted to it should be networked on the wireless LAN and have internet access after this as well.

Good luck, I hope my instructions were clear. Wifi networking is easy, it's understanding all the manufacturers less-than-intuitive software that makes it hard.

My wifi not working

LOL, wifi does not work off a network cable. The network cable is used for a local connection to a modem or router. Wifi doesn't not require a cable. Did it use to work? Have you checked on both sides of the laptop and in front of the laptop to make sure you have not turned the wifi switch off if there is one? Have you checked to make sure you have not hit the FN (Function Key) + (F1 thru F12 function key) that toggles the wifi on an off? When you Press the FN key and hold it down while pressing the Function Key that corresponds to toggling the wireless normally it will display on the screen Wireless On or Wireless Off. The correct key should have a wireless signal icon like )))) on it. That's the key you want to hit while holding the FN key.

Not Connecting

Hello, Richevekelly -

You may just need to take some steps to boost your WiFi signal and / or WiFi speed.

Reade the information here:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/tech-tips-and-tricks/how-to-increase-wifi-speed.html

I also found this information on how to boost a WiFi signal using aluminum foil:

http://www.techiepaw.com/boost-wifi-signal-with-aluminum-foil/

It seems like such a McGyver hack, I had to provide it . . . if only for fun. :)

Best wishes.

NO OS STATED it came with VISA and that is a dead OS.
that PC that old year , came with many options (lan)
ive no idea at all what this means.sorry
"run a phone line from the wireless connection to my laptop." that is impossible, wireless has no wires.

NO ISP STATED (name) tech support.>? who? Comcast?
NO service stated. over 6 possible....

Dial up? (called phone line wired POTS)
Phone line DSL ? and router.
CABLE MODEM + router or all in one box>?with wifi.
FIOS MODEM (and router in all cases , do you have)
SAT MODEM
3/4G MODEM.
we have no idea at what is there.
nor what wifi options are inside this PC. ever.

if the modem you have , has ethernet jack (RJ45 called)
then use that for fasted possible wired connections
super easy.!!!

getting wifi to work takes hard work.
x10 me blind here.
step one in the laptop is.
if this pc is fitted with the BOARDCOM WLAN.

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/compaq-presario-f700-notebook-pc-series/3548233/model/3548236

then run the wifi setup and set it up.

1: get the OS drivers matching your VISTA OS.
2:then load those from HP then in BIOS turn on wifi.
3:now the device manager show wifi is there.
4: then using the wifi control appl... set up your wifi matching credentials. SSID name, WEP.WPA1/2 method and then you password to your homes wifi net.
bingo connected.

My Wi-Fi isn't working isn't working, no matter what I try or do it is not getting any access points, what could be the problem?

Boot to F8 then select Last known good configuration. If no fix then boot back to F8 then safe mode then system restore from the time everything was working fine.

If all no fix do the following:

Check if your laptop can see other network aside from your home network.
If your laptop cannot see any network check if the wifi or wireless switch is turned on.
If the wifi or wireless switch is on then uninstall / reinstall the wlan or wifi driver.

I am told I need a cable to connect the printer to the computer but the printer is wireless

You wouldnt not as long as you have a wireless router hooked up so the printer can communicate with your pc. If you dont have wireless router then yes you would need wire. Even though printer is wireless it has to communicate wirelessly with something..

Cannot get a network connection using my linksys modelWRT54G2 WIRELESS ROUTER

Make sure that your computer is able to go online directly through the modem.
If your computer is able to go online through the modem, that means the modem is working fine.
You will need to connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.
