Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Been trying to insert the @ key on another laptop

I don't fully understand, but if you are trying to find " @ " on different keyboard yo can try common ones
  • SHIFT + 2
  • R ALT + V (right alt key)
  • R ALT + 2
  • RALT + Q
But on every computer with nompad on keyboard you can use
  • L ALT + 64 (hold left alt and enter 64 on numpad, not work on numbers in up of keyboard)

Please tell me how to Print screen on a Microsoft ARC keyboard. There is a print screen above the Home button in blue but NO function button?

Actually there is no separate PrtScn key on the Arc keyboard. The print screen is a Function key combo.

Fn + Home

To capture the active window only it is Alt + Fn + Home

How do I get the pound symbol on my keyboard ?

If your Operating System is MS Windows, go to Start / Control panel / Regional Settings (or Region and Language for Win7) / Keyboards and Languages then add the English/UK keyboard or simply hold the ALT key and type 0163 from the numeric keyboard.

When I want to put in a Question mark in a sentance, I get that funny little red E that is on the same key.

You have the wrong keyboard selected for your computer. This can happen based off where you purchased the computer. The installed keyboard profile is wrong. Do this below:

Control Panel > Regional and Language Options > Keyboards and Languages > Change Keyboards to the one for your correct language

I use dell inspiron 1440 notebook. There is no no. lock key on my keyboard. I can not use alt key on ms word. How can I use numeric and alt key ?

Although there is no num lock button on the keyboard, it can still be turned on - either via external keyboard or the onscreen keyboard in windows. However, the keyboard on this notebook does not have keys which are dedicated to become number keys when numlock is on, so it wouldn't impact usage of the keyboard in the slightest.
onscreen keyboard is located here

Cannot save Window screen image with Alt-PrtScr

if there is an 'fn' key on your keyboard then your combo would be
fn+prtsc+alt - to capture top windows and fn+prtsc to capture entire screen
If however your prt sc key is combined with another key and written on top then you need to use
shift+prt sc + alt to capture top windows and shift+prtsc to capture entire screen

How do I use the "AltCar" on my labtop?

Okay, I know this is an old question but when i searched for the same problem recently, it was the nearest I could find. So in case others are having the same problem:

The Vaio you have is a Canadian model, which has alternate keyboard drivers for English and French. The alt car key only works with the French keyboard (durr). To switch, press the LEFT control key and RIGHT shift key at the same time, then release. Now if you use the alt car key like the shift key, i.e. hold it down then press another key, you should be able to access the pink characters. To return to English keyboard, press left-ctrl and right-shift together again.

hth!

Hi, I have recently purchased an amilo La1703 and only used it for approx. 48 hours. The screen does not appear to be working. Any suggestions on what is wrong, can't download a product support guide.

we will try the simpliest idea first. You may have inadvertently shut off the monitor (yes you can do that). Along the top of the keyboard look for a key that looks like a little monitor (it may be printed on the side). i believe you need to hit alt at the same time as the key to turn it on.
