Hello &
Welcome to FixYa The heating
issue can be caused by the oven temp sensor that is bad and needs replacement. If you wan to be sure before
replacing the sensor then you can test it with a voltmeter for around
1100ohms....if it reads more then this then it needs replacement. You can view this video for glass
replacement: Please get
back to me if you have any other questions. Kevin

Thanks for the info, Kevin. Will probably have to have a repairman check the temp senor as I don't have a clue where it is. I already found the "range oven glass door replacement" on You-Tube, but it's for a different door (ie not a Jenn-Air), especially the hinges. My hinges do not have the clip, and cannot simply pull up on the door to release it either. Can you tell me how to remove the door from the frame on the Jenn-air? I also tried to find a service manual for this oven, but couldn't (probably because it's so old.) Know where I can get one?
I believe I just posted a comment regarding your answer, but I don't see it now. Because I can't, will try to recreate what I said.
Thanks for your answer re excessive heat. Will probably have to check w/ a serviceman as I don't have a clue where any of that is on the range.
RE replacing the glass in the oven door. I already found that video on You-tube. Problem is, the video shows a completely different door and hinges. My Jenn-Air does not have the clip hinges, nor can I just pull up on the door to remove it from the range body. Do you have info on how to remove the door on my model (SVE47600)-- hinges are nothing like those in the video. Have been totally unsuccessful in locating a service manual for this range (probably because it's so old). Do you have suggestions as to where I might find one?
Thanks.
It's a Jenn-Air SVE47600 (white, convection)
You didn't get back w/ me as promised, so I'm assuming you weren't able to check the repair manual?
Thanks, but unfortunately this is what I get when I click on the repair manual link (underlined above in your email):
