Question about Fellowes Saturn SL 125 12.5-Inch Laminator

1 Answer

Fellowes Cosmis 125 Laminator will not heat up, neither the green or red light turns on. Motor runs but no heat for laminating. Brand New, barely used, maybe 10 sheets through at most.

We have an old Fellowes laminator which won't heat up. It shows the red light on permanently. What do you recommend?

SOURCE: Using a model 95P laminator,

there are different reasons why the sheet didn't come out.

1. first, one part of the laminating film where adhesive is was exposed to the rubber roller. the reason why when the sheet place between the two laminating plastic film enter the laminator the heat cause this to bond in one of the rubber roller. (Remember that the paper should be placed in the middle between the two plastic laminating film were adhesive part is face together.. you can feel the side where the adhesive is when you touch it rough)

2. second, although you make it right by pairing two laminating plastic with both the adhesive part facing together, the connecting end for the two laminating were not cut proportionally. Thus, the part where an adhesive was exposed when you enter this on the laminator it will bond to the rubber roller.

You will have to open the the unit. Unscrew to remove the sets of rubber roller. Remove the plastic stuck on the roller. You can should strip off remaining adhesives residue on the rubber roller. The roller must be free from any foreign materials especially adhesives.

Hope this will guide you

Why won't my laminator turn on?

There is a heating unit inside of a hot laminator. Sometimes when you use this machine for too long it can damage some of the internal components because most of those things are full of plastic. You may want to see if Fellows can take it back under warranty. If they can't you are going to have to get a new one.

Plz try the "Jam free" lever located on the top LEFT of the laminator. You ca try to feed another film in....hoping it will force the pouch out. Otherwise, you will have to take the cover off and unroll the pouch from the inside rollers. Good luck!

Laminator wont feed

If the motor is running, then the cog that drives the roller system may have failed. Laminators built today are made with plastic (nylon) roller drive cogwheels that crack. Especially if the fed media is too thick. Put the machine into run mode and feed a single piece of card (a playing card will do) into the feed slot. Lightly hold the card and see if you can feel the card moving. To check if the motor is in reverse, feed the card into the output slot.

If you are handy with a screwdriver, then with it disconnected, remove the lid (about six screws underneath) and check the rollers for old lamination sheets that could be stuck to one of them. This would limit the feed gap between the rollers, preventing you from putting your media in.

I have a Lamiart-3201 laminator and the rollers are not working - or i cannot feed my item through the laminator. Usually I just put it in and the laminator feeds it out the other end...

Make sure your laminator is heated up properly before feeding material through. Usually, for a low-end laminator, you will wait anywhere between 10 to 20 minutes before it is completely heated up, allowing you to use it. There should be a red button that will tell you it is NOT ready yet, and a green button will tell you it is.
