Page 20 on the following Palm Manual explains performing a soft and hard reset, to try to get it working:

I'm not familiar with the contacts on this device, but if there are any inside the device, and the battery isn't hard-wired, clean the battery contacts on the battery and inside the camera with a qtip and alcohol, or a pencil eraser.
Make sure the charger voltage is good (measure it with a voltmeter), and measure the battery to make sure it's holding a good charge). If it isn't, get a replacement.
Good luck, and hope this helps.

I stopped using my m505 for several months. How long until it will be charged enough to turn on? Its been charging now for at least 2 hours and nothing.

I would charge it over night. If the batteries went completely dead sometimes it takes an extended period of time to charge them. If that doesn't work try using the free palm chat. I have enclosed that link. Scroll to the bottom of the page and you will see Palm chat. From there click on the link that says chat now.
Best wishes.

My palm Tungsten E won't turn on or won't turn off. Power Key may be broken... any suggestions?

Press one of the 5 buttons at the bottom, if they work, then the power key is broken. There is a freeware prc (off-it) that will turn the Palm off.

My experience with off-it, if you use it, and you want to charge your PDA, you need to turn it on and let it turn itself off via the time-out or leave it on and charge with the screen on.

Hi,
It sounds like the battery might be dead. If I were you I would take advantage of the free chat that palm provides to their customers. I have used it in the past always with good results. I am including a link to that page. Best wishes.

M515 Palm Pilot

here is your manual in PDF form
www.palm.com/us/support/handbooks/m500series_ug.pdf

if the unit was new then you would charge it for about 10 hours .. but since its not likely new then it doesnt hurt anything to just leave it on charge ... you can even operate the palm while its charging .. over night charge should be enough to get pretty close to full ... the palm internally automatically turns off the charge when the battery is full .. so you dont have to worry about over charging .. if the unit wont come on then you can do a "reset" (back at top)

If it needs to be charged, it can take up to 3 hours to do.  While it is charging you won't see any lights on the Palm.  Only the screen being turned on will indicate the charging level with the icon.

Palm treo 650 wont power up

It may be past the point of turning on.
If this is the case, if you connect it through the USB cable to your computer for a little while, it can get a small charge.

Trickle charging
Some Palm devices have the ability to "trickle charge" from a USB port on a PC or Mac. This means that it receives a very small amount of charging from the USB port, even if it is not connected to its AC charger. If your device is capable of this function, the charging time will be significantly longer for a trickle charge (depending on the power rating of the PC USB port). However, the device may not charge at all on an unpowered USB hub (or for example off off a keyboard).

If you can then power it on afterwards, connect it to the regular power charger.

Won't shut down

There are a couple of things you can try.

1- Poke the hole in the back where it says reset.
This will in essence reboot your Palm.

2- Make sure the Auto-Off after: is set to 2 minutes by going into the Preferences, Power section.

3- If your Palm is not holding charge, connect the Palm to charge it. Turn the Palm on and make sure the battery at the top has a lightning bolt going through it. This will let you know it is charging. Then, push the reset hole in the back to reset the Palm. This should reset the charging mechanism in the Palm and allow your battery to hold power.

If the Palm does not hold power after step 3, you may need to see about getting it serviced.

My palm Z22 froze

I have the same problem. I fixed it the first time by rebooting from the back of the palm and plugging it in to charge. Not sure if it needed charged or not but it worked. I am having the same problem today though and know it doesn't need charged so not sure if this is a true fix but got me back up and running the first time.
