Go to control panel....find system icon...click it......then find device manager, click there....see if there is a yellow exclamation mark , if so turn off pc ,open the case and make sure the sound card(where your speakers plug in is tight into the board by pressing you shouldnt be able to see any gold color connections out of the slot. I use to have sound - afterhourspc_0.jpgshould look like this!!
If it doesnt or you dont have the card your audio may have been damaged by the transit(temperature change, static, rough treatment ) and may need to purchase a new PCI SOUND CARD. good luck

After re-formating the CF card that had been filled all the shots taken now have either lines across them or simply don't come out at all.

This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager, and is a known defect for your particular model camera.. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free if you live in the US, Canada, and a select few other countries. If you live outside the US, contact Canon support for your country to see if they'll still honor the advisory (some still will, especially if you stress you knowledge that this is a known defect of the camera). They may also include free shipping both ways (free shipping varies with countries). This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please see this link for more info.

Had to replace the battery, now auto lock will not work on doors and the key fobs no longer lock or unlock the doors. what can we do?

It appears the security wiring harness may have gotten loose or was not on tight from the begining. Follow the battery cables back and look for any wiring harness or loose wires. If you come across a a wiring harness unplug and replug it tightly. If it is damaged you will need to install a new wiring harness plug.

When I turn on the camera the display is perfect, when I shoot a picture, the display of the shot comes out purple and when downloaded the picture on the memory card is the same. Distorted with lines.

You need to re-download your drivers for your Sound Card and install them as well. You should have gotten the Install disk with your computer.

Display Image after shooting

It sounds like your CCD imager is broke, but it sounds like your saying that the images look fine as your taking them, but only show up bad after stored.... If that's the case, then I will need more info, but if they DON'T look clear on the screen BEFORE you press the shutter, it's the CCD, which is usually an expensive repair.

Sound driver in need

First you will need to find out what sound card you have. if it is a computer you bought in store. than should be able to get it from there official website. example dell/ dell.com if you have sony than it would be sony.com. if you don't have a brand computer. you will need to know which company is your sound card. and than search the companies card on google.com or yahoo.com. after you have gotten the driver you will need to burn the driver to a disc. a regular cd would work fine. i would recommend a flash drive. it is much easier and much faster.

i hope this helps.
