You do not need drivers for your router. Routers have their own operating system installed, called the IOS, it is a stand alone device. You simply log into the router via web utility and adjust the settings as desired.

Hello I've installed windows7 on my pc, now i'v...

This message has nothing to do with your router. Windows 7 is not recognizing your network adapter card possibly due to an incompatible driver.

You need to ensure that your network card has a driver that is compatible with Windows 7 and is installed and working properly.

If you right click on My Computer on the desktop and choose Manage look for Device Manager in the left pane and click on it. Now in the right pane you should see a listing for Network Adapters. First of all if it is yellow with an question mark it means that the driver either is not installed or is not functioning. you will need to find the driver for that network card and install it.

If it looks ok check the version by right clicking on it and selecting properties. Confirm with the vendor that this driver is Windows 7 compatible. If not you may be able to find a generic Microsoft driver that will work.

If that all fails you will need to get and install another network card that is compatible with this operating system.

Problems with drivers I think

Okay, I'm going to need some more information. Could you please go into Device Manager (to do this, press Start, Run, type devmgmt.msc, press Enter)

then go into the CD/DVD Section. Are there any yellow exclamation marks on the devices in that section, namely, on your CD/DVD drive?

If so, double click it, and post the error code here.
For example, "Error code 37"

In fact, CD/DVD drives not reading is a fairly common problem. Here is the fix if your problem is the same (known as the UpperFilters/LowerFilters fix)
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060

You will need to edit the REGISTRY. If you are not comfortable doing this, click the "Fix It" button which will probably do it automatically.

If that didn't fix your problem, try right clicking your drive in device manager -> Update Drivers and following those steps, or going to the Manufacturers website and getting the latest CD/DVD drivers or firmware, if they exist.

CAREFUL with updating firmware, make sure you select the correct model!

If this didn't help, let us know what happened, and we'll take it from there.

PC disconnects from Internet

pls check if there any virus becoz this could happen due to some heavy virus downloads or distruption. Update your anti virus software properly. There are so many viruses and Worms which can distrupt your wireless internet.
Secondly, your wireless configration software has been corrupted. pls re-install it.

When I try to install my wireless router, my desktop does not recognize it.

you need:

1. a wireless adapter (working).. you adapter needs to have drivers that go with your operating system.. if you have problems on this area you need to go to the adapter manufacturer website and dowload drivers for your device according to your operating system (ex. if you have a xyz model made by company z and you are using windows vista... you need to go to company z, look in support for you to download driver and look for your device model xyz and look for a vista driver... you may need to install the driver first before plugging your device in (if your wireless adapter device uses a usb)
2. a wireless access point (a router)
3. if your router is configured with defaults (not recommended for security reasons) you're pretty much set, but if your router is configured (recommended) you need to know:
a. the SSID (name of your router/network),
b. wireless key or passphrase and
c. method of authentication set on your access point (wep, wpa, wpa2)

for a general reference of what you need and how it's suppose to work read the following article
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/moredone/wirelesssetup.mspx

to set up your computer to access a wireless router follow this steps
xp:
http://www.ln.edu.hk/itsc/tsg/wireless/wlan-configure/winxp-eng-v1.html
vista:

Need to update my wireless-b router to vista home edition

The router itself shouldn't need a Vista update. You should only need to update the drivers on wireless card connected to computer.

You can go to manufacturer's website to do this but, you will need the model number of wireless card if you bought it separately. If it came with the computer, go to their website.
