Ignition switch won't turn on.shifter locked, front wheels turn

Your ignition is probably bad. It may be the ignition actuator rod, if your car has one. It can be replaced fairly easily and only costs around $40.00, but I've not worked on a GM ignition for a while, so I'm not sure it has one. If not, you may want to get a replacement ignition from a salvage yard

I need a shower curtain rod that won't rust/corrode

For rods that won't rust you might need a rod made of stainless steel or even nylon. This site sells these type of shower rods:

Replace rusted tank
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-install-gas-water-heater.html

Prevent rusted tank.
If nipples are leaking, and they did not leak before, then tank has most likely rusted out and needs replacement.
Cause for rusted tank is depleted anode rod.
Inspect and replace anode each 1-3 years.

My water heater is leaking and only 4 years old. Will the use of a water softener void the warranty?

The warranty should not be void by using water softener, BUT read product manual.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Water-heater-manufacturers.html

1) First thing: Why is water heater leaking? Where is the leak?
http://waterheatertimer.org/Leaking-water-heater.html
For example, if you have electric water heater leaking from element, then replace element.
Replace leaking TP valve.
If water is leaking down vent pipe, and combustion chamber rusted out, then vent problem must be corrected.
These are not covered by warranty.
If tank is rusted out, then read below.

2) If water heater is rusted out after 4 years, you might have stray current corrosion.
This happens when hot and cold pipes are not connected together with a ground wire, and/or if cold water pipe is not grounded to earth.
This might not be covered by warranty.

3) Read water heater instruction manual for advisories.
Tanks rust out when anode rod is depleted. Softened water depletes anode rod faster.
Instruction manual says to check anode rod each year.
Checking anode rod is like checking oil on an engine. If oil was never checked and engine burned up, the manufacturer will not honor the warranty.
If anode rod is depleted, and tank is rusted out, the warranty might not cover the rusted tank since owner was supposed to check for anode depletion.

4) Anode rods can also be covered with calcium deposits and stop working.
This night not have anything to do with water softener, but anode stops working and tanks rusts out.
In any case the owner's manual probably says to check anode rod to prevent leaking from rusted tank

Ariston GL6+ Occasional rusty water. Can this be remedied? Thank you Ed

Ariston GL6 6-gallon electric water heater has anode rod to prevent steel tank from rusting.
Once anode rod depletes, the tank rusts.
All tank-type water heaters have replaceable anode rod that can stop rusting, but will not repair damaged tank.
Open following links for resources + manual with parts number and illustration on page 7 and 10. Part number is shown as 570241 anode rod.

I have a Reliance 501 electric water heater ... Everything works great but below the water out. Be rusty? How can I fix it?

The tank is rusting. Replace anode rod or replace water heater.
Once the anode rod depletes, then the tank starts to rust.
IF you can replace the anode rod, it will stop rusting, and then flush the rust out of water heater.
This might buy more life with same tank, but old anode rods are pretty solid and even impact wrench might not loosen it up.

http://waterheatertimer.org/Clean-sediment-out-of-water-heater.html#flush

Loosen anode rod on new tank before installing, and then inspect every 1-3 years, and 1-2 years if water is softened.

Tank is rusted out, and requires replacement.

I) To protect yourself from ruptured tank, you should turn it off and use it only when hot water is needed.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Emergency-steps-for-leaking-water-heater.html

II) How to install ordinary tank-type water heater yourself:
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-install-gas-water-heater.html

III) There are 5 preventable things that kill a water heater and cause it to rust away.

1) Anode rod depletion.
Loosen anode rod before installing water heater.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Replace-anode-rod.html

2) Stray current corrosion
http://waterheatertimer.org/9-ways to save-with-water-heater.html#Ground-tank

3) Sediment build up because no water softener
http://waterheatertimer.org/Clean-sediment-out-of-water-heater.html

4) Corrosive effects of water softener, and anode rod not inspected (see #1 above)

5) Chemicals stored in same room as gas appliance.

Water stinks

If water has odor, then check anode rod or hire plumber to replace anode rod.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Replace-anode-rod.html

Bacteria reacts with metal on anode rod, causing odor.
Good news is that anode rod is still functioning, so water heater is not rusted.
Once anode rod is depleted, you get no more odor, but tank is rusting and will need to be replaced.
Changing anode rod periodically will let tank last much longer.

1996 Dodge Ram 3500 w/Cummins diesel. When ignition is turned on the fuel soleniod is not being energized.

Spray the fuel shutoff solenoid with, rust inhibitor, these have a history of rusting and binding, may have to take the arm loose and clean it with sandpaper. If this doesn't work , replace the relay mounted on the firewall> will be 2 relays mounted together. Then if that doesen't solve the problem, you will have to replace the solenoid. You can operate the solenoid manually also by pushing in on the rod when someone turns the ignition key on. Hope this helps, plase let me know
