It has power because the screen is lit and shows E-2. Unit does turn on but dies after a few seconds and E-2 comes back on. I also have a another Friedrich, a WallMaster that is also not working. I do knot know the exact model. It too is not working. The green light shows when I plug it in but the unit will not turn on when I press the power.

E2 error code means indoor coil temperature sensor broken (fixed in evaporator coil)..

This error means that the unit has gone into a protection mode, its the reason because not operating. Check with ohms testing two ends, should read something. If it doesn't read any thing, replace the sensor.

You can take the model number to a local heat and air parts supplier and pick one up and swap it out.

Hppe this helps.

Hi there,

after doing some research I foung that the code might mean that the PC Board is not receiving a signal from the copper sensing bulb mounted to the evaporating coil.

Suggestions are you can visually check/inspect if the sensor has come unplugged from the PC Board or the sensor has failed and must be replaced or the sensor wire has shorted or opened having the wire needed to be replaced.

If you are comfortable doing that then you can try checking it inside the unit otherwise I would suggest you try to contact a local technician to do that for you to make sure that everything will be done right and the unit will be back to it's normal working status.

Hope this helps!

I'm afraid having a local aircondition technician would be the best option.

michaelfoder, Because very strange things start to appear on the screens of cold cathode fluorescent lamp, back-lit, LCD monitors, I always investigate the "switch-mode-power-supply/ccfl inverter supply for very common occuring defects in the supply!!! You can find out about them here: http://www.lesliewong.us/blog/2005/05/02/hp-pavilion-f1703-flat-panel-display-blackout-solution/ Just remember to do a fixya rating and testimonial if this response helps you to find and correct problem in your 2-3year old unit. Problem could be an unstable +5v or +3.3v dc supply rail. 12fixlouie

Screen bleeds into white after coming out of sleep mode. Turn on an off a couple of times and screen is fine. Is it my video card or is my monitor dying?mag FP-2226AFW 22"

guest, FP2226AFW may have internal "switch-mode-power-supply" problem. Swollen electrolytic filter capacitors or "thermally fractured" component leads to printed circuit board solder joints that will need to be "reflowed" to restore unit to normal operation. Prove that problem is monitor by swapping-in a known-good monitor to your pc first!!! If pc is ok, then 2226AFW unit will need "tear-down" and Inspection" of it's "switch-mode-power-supply/cold-cathode-fluorescent-lamp INVERTER power supply printed circuit board. Do some reading in my fixya profile and those of other CCFL back-lit lcd monitor tech's and you may just find a solution. All CCFL back-lit lcd monitors of the same basic design and functional operation. 12fixlouie

You can try a master reset which your provider will be able to provide the steps to you on how to do it, or the manufacturer's website. if a reset doesn't fix it than you need to get a new phone through your replacement options for this is a device issue.

SCREEN WON,T STAY LIT UNLESS I TOUCH IT

You are simply in blackout mode. This is so at night you aren't blinded by the glow of a screen. Here are instructions right from the manual to turn on or off.

Blackout Mode On and Off
When Blackout mode is turned on, the monitor display will turn off to
reduce power consumption.
This additional power enhances the sound quality.
1 Touch [VISUAL] on the main source screen.
The VISUAL selection screen is displayed.
2 Touch [OFF].
The backlit-display portion goes out.
3 Touch [OFF] again to cancel the display backlight.
To make the setting, set to “Setting the VISUAL Touch Button” (page
34).
If any button on the unit is pressed during Blackout mode, the
function will be displayed for 5 seconds to show the operation before
returning to Blackout mode.
While the backlighting is turned off, the function indicator

Question: Why won't my StreetPilot c3xx power on?
Found on the Garmin web site --> Answer: If your StreetPilot does not power on, or if it turns on then turns off, you can troubleshoot the problem by resetting or charging the unit. The reset is a "soft" reset that you can perform in the car; it restores power to the unit, but it does not remove data.
To reset the unit:
  1. Place the unit in the cradle and roll it backwards slightly to lock it in place.
  2. With the key in the car ignition, turn on the unit or put it in accessory mode.
  3. On the face plate of the unit, put your thumb nail in the groove under the Garmin logo and gently pull off the face plate.
  4. With the face plate removed, press the reset button on the right side.
  5. Turn the unit back on. If the unit still doesn't power on, you may need to charge it.
To charge the unit:
  1. Using the provided USB cable, connect the device to the computer.
  2. Reset the unit (following instructions above).
  3. Keep the device connected to the computer and allow it to charge overnight (7-8 hours).
  4. After charging, unplug the unit and power it on.

Hi whitiezn

If you say that this unit is very new , it should on all accounts still be under warranty.

Contact your local Toshiba Service Centre and have this problem sorted out on their account - the machine should still be under warranty.

2 units have died. Possible power supply problem

I had a LRM-519 that would not get past a very dimly lit "hello" on the LED screen. I called tech support and was advised to make sure no disk was in the unit and turn off the power from the unit (not the remote) and unplug it from the wall outlet. While unplugged, hold down the power button for 30 seconds then plug it back in. This didn't work the first time, but after a few tries it worked for me. My unit hadn't worked for nearly 3 months prior to this. Good luck.

According to LG support, it would have cost $69 for labor plus parts to repair the unit. The main board/power board is $40.
