Media Share Mini #97329 - don't waist time/money -- poor product, not truthful honest product description, and useless Support (located off shore) --- product is designed to be only used with Verbatim website for a Monthly FEE [bait & switch]... This is no solution nor is Verbatim interested in customer satiation...

MediaShare Mini - Verbatim 97329 - Home Network Storage -- AVOID THIS PRODUCT -- it is not a real solution to simple home networking [network drives] needs nor are there fixes to multiple problems and issues.. Security issue - must allow 3d party access to your Home Network via internet. It is designed to work with Verbatim.COM web-site for additional monthly fees (not disclosed up-front/prior to purchase). Customer service is off-shore non-responsible, not knowledgeable, not "good communicators" -- emails requesting help are ignored. I have yet found any success stories in fixing the problems --- also I noticed it get very HOT on the bottom which concerns me for electrical product that is to be left on 24 hours a day....

Setting up printer on XP

<p>To add a printer, first follow your printer's instruction manual to assemble your printer and connect it to your computer. When you are ready to install the software, have your printer's CD-ROM or floppy disk handy.<br /> <p><b>1. </b>Open the Start menu and choose Settings, then Printers.<br /> <p><b>2. </b>Double-click on Add Printers.<br /> <p><b>3. </b>Follow the instructions provided by the Print wizard. If you're adding a network printer, be sure to find out its name or network path. To make sure you're using the most recent printer driver, insert your printer CD-ROM or floppy disk when asked. You can also choose a preinstalled driver that matches the printer make and model you're trying to add, but it might be older than a driver that came with the printer. hi,
you do not need a CD to connect to the printer, what you should do is gain access to the print server. this can be done by asking your network administrator. in a situation where you don't have one or the network is an open one, you have to connect to the printer network, open your ipv4 properties and select obtain an ip address automatically, do the same with the DNS server and you're good to go.
just so i'm thorough, after connecting to the print server / network, you can access your network ipv4 properties by right-clicking on the network icon located at the lower right corner of your taskbar, (the bar at the bottom of your screen) usually in form of two computer monitors. select network and sharing center after right-clicking. a list of wireless network should be available if there are more than one wireless networks in the area. select view status of the print server / network, click on properties, a pop-up box appears. be sure 'file and printer sharing for microsoft network' is checked, double-click "internet protocol v4 (ip/tcpv4)' select obtain an ip address automatically, select the same for the dns server below. click OK you're good to go.
note
once you are successfully connected to the print server, click on Devices and Printers from the start menu, select the printer and allow the drivers to be installed from the server. once that is done, you can right-click on the printer and select set as default. after this all you have to do is connect and print whenever you want to.
hope this helps
let me know if there's anything you don't understand or if this doesn't resolve it.

A impressora nao esta ativada, embora esteja conectada ao roteador, como liberar a impressao

When the printer is connected to the network the first time, the router will assign an IP address to it. To get the IP address that the printer was assigned, print a configuration page from the printer. It will show you the IP address on that page somewhere.
Using an Internet browser, type the IP address of the printer into the address line of the browser and press enter. It should bring up a printer configuration window.
Now, since each printer is different, I can't give you the exact steps, HOWEVER, here's what you are looking for:
Find a Network - TCP/IP configuration menu. Somewhere in that menu, it will give you the choice of setting a manual or static IP address versus a DHCP (Dynamic Host Control Protocol) assigned address.
You want to manually set the IP address to the address given on the configuration page. This would normally be 192.168.1.10x where x is any number between 0 and 9. The subnet mask will normally be 255.255.255.0 and the gateway will normally be the IP of the router, usually 192.168.1.1
Once the IP address is assigned permanently to the printer as a static address, you are now ready to add the printer to each computer on your network.
Add the Printer to Your Networked Computers
In Windows XP, follow these steps to add the wireless printer to your computer:
  1. Go to Start, Printers and Faxes.
  2. Double click on Add Printer
  3. Click Next.
  4. On the Local or Network Printer dialog box, choose Local Printer and UNCHECK the box that says "Automatically detect" the printer. Click Next.
  5. On the Select a Printer Port window, choose to Create a New Port, and then under Type of Port, choose Standard TCP/IP port. Click Next.
  6. Make sure the printer is On and Ready, and connected to the network. Click Next.
  7. Type in the static IP address of the printer that you set in the steps above. Click Next.
  8. It will then try to connect to that IP address. It you typed it wrong, or the printer is off, it will come back and give you an error.
  9. If all is well, it should then ask you for the printer driver. If it is an older printer, it may already be listed in Windows. Alternatively, you can insert the CD for the printer, and find the Windows XP English version of the driver. It will be an .inf file most likely.
  10. Double click on the appropriate INF file and then choose the driver you want to install. (the PCL 6 version is usually the one you should choose).
  11. Click Next. It will install the driver and ask you to name the printer.
  12. When it is done, click Finish. (You can choose to print a test page if you want).

Hp deskjet 550c trying to print from network But I am on windows 7. Printer is on xp. Can't find driver or fix to run printer on network

Use my published guide to install the latest drivers for all computers on the network. It is entitled
How to Install the latest drivers for Hewlett Packard Printer!!!
The drivers need to be installed on all computers in the network.

Then once the drivers are installed all you need to do is to navigate to the Windows control panel and double click printers and faxes on the computer that the printer is connected to.
Now right click the your printer and select the option Sharing, this will allow you to share the printer on the network.

Click the lower circle to share the printer.

Then when you print from another computer on the network, be sure to select this shared printer as the printer to print to, or set this shared printer as the default printer by right clicking the printer and selecting the option to set as default printer.

Please be sure to rate this session.

Take care!
