Your video card software has likely got the settings..

Right click on you desktop
Slect properties
Slect settings
You should now see about 6 tabs - one of which will configure your display card..in here, there will be a 'rotate' function.

Hope this helps.

Change screen orientation

Computer users occasionally have a need to rotate, or "flip," a monitor display to be better able to read long documents or to view pictures. Because rotating a computer screen is such a basic function, modern operating systems (Windows XP and up) include hot keys and display options that enable the user to rotate the computer screen by 90, 180 and 270 degrees. Rotating the computer screen allows for more display options. For instance, when rotated 90 degrees, a 1680x1050 monitor becomes a 1050x1680 monitor, which provides more vertical pixels than a standard display.

Windows XP/Vista Monitor Orientation
Minimize any windows or programs to the taskbar. Click the desktop. Press "CTRL" + "ALT" at the same time. Press one of the arrow keys to flip the monitor orientation by 90, 180 or 270 degrees. The left arrow rotates the computer screen 90 degrees; the down arrow rotates the computer screen 180 degrees; the right arrow rotates the computer screen 270 degrees; the up arrow resets the monitor orientation. Rotate the computer screen in Windows Vista by opening the Control Panel, searching for "Tablet PC" and changing the "Orientation" drop box to the desired rotation. b> Windows 7 Monitor Orientation b> Click the Start menu at the lower-left hand part of the screen, and open the Control Panel. Select "Display," then click "Change display settings" from the left column. When using multiple monitors, select the monitor that you would like to rotate. Click the drop box next to the "Orientation:" option. Select the desired rotation and click "Apply." Click "Keep Changes" or "Revert," depending on preference. Click "Apply" in the Display Settings window. Click "OK" to finish. Hope this helps

My computer sceen is sideways. How do flip the screen back?

It's a feature of your video card. Use Ctrl-Alt-Up Arrow or go to video card properties, rotate.

My desktop on my lenovo 0769 is turned sideways

That sounds like your video card drivers are set to rotate your screen. If you right click on your desktop away from any icons in the menu you should see the graphics card properties for your NVIDA/INTEL/ATI card depending on what is installed. You will just need to go through those screens to configure the drivers until you see the section for rotating the screen. Just set it back to normal once you locate it and hit apply.

If you do not see anything from a video card manufacture you can try clicking on proprieties in that same menu. You will see a new window called Display Properties and your driver settings could be here. Check the Settings take and the Advanced button if you are having problems finding it. Feel free to link to a screen shot of what you are seeing in the menus if you can not find the rotation settings.

Screen is sideways

this is ok, either someone's yanking your chain, or you accidently activated an ability of your graphics chip, this mode is for "tablet" PCs which have a portrait mode. you most likely have an icon in the bottom left of your screen by the clock for graphics settings, one of these will be to rotate the screen.

it is also possible that this ability may be programmed to one of the hotkeys, however without model info I cannot tell.

your mouse should have flipped too, if not then someone may be fooling with you..

check if you can click your icons... if you cannot then right click on the desktop and change the wallpaper on your desktop, also re-enable your icons from this menu, you may also need to unhide your start bar

hope this helps

Screen rotated everything is sideways this is a gateway laptop model #w650l

Hold down the CTRL+ALT keys and hit the right arrow key (depending on how it's rotated, you may have to do this a couple of times)

I'm not sure how -- but while messing around with my computer (trying to burn a CD) (which I also couldn't do), my display flipped 90 degrees so I'm looking at everthing sideways and I can'get it back...

To burn a cd using XP just right click on the files you want and send to CD Burner, DVD, or whatever it says that deals with your burner and when you get what you want in your temporary drive right click on the icon on your start bar that popped up and said "you have files waiting to be written" and click write these files. If they are audio files it will ask you if you want a data disc or audio disc. Pick the appropriate one. If there was no icon..right click on My Computer and click explore. Righ click on your burner and click write these files.

I use Nero! Love it!

As far as your vertical screen. You can switch it back with the options on your monitors buttons or righ click on your desktop and choose properties and thumb around there to find your driver specific properties to rotate your screen.

Monitor screen went sideways

Try the ALT key and the Up Arrow.
If that does not work, try CRT ALT UP and DOWN arrows till you can rotate your display.
