Usually this password is located at the router's settings page / Wi-Fi or Wlan or Wireless section / security section. Depending on the router, some brands/models saw asterisks or dots at the place for the password for security reasons. If you know the default password you can try to reset the router; most of the times comes to default settings.

In case of a problem or clarification or further details needed, don't hesitate to post me a reply before rejecting my answer. Also clarify me the router's brand / model.
If you are satisfied, accept my solution.

Your router is very rare, so I suggest to search around the device for something like a label with details like password etc. Also this router might has a custom setup from the internet provider company (especially if this is a modem + router). Have you tried to go at the router's settings page? What did you get there?

I go to connect and now a box appears Security key or passphrase? I have two lap tops no problem but I just got another one this appears

Theencryption key secures your data from unauthorized access. The router's password is a Passphrase or the WEP or WPA orWPA2 encryption key. The Passphrase generates the WEP or WPA or WPA2 encryptionkey and this is in the router's wireless settings. To connect to your wireless router, configure the router'swireless settings ie SSID, plus the WPAor WPA2 encryption key and then configure wireless cards in the laptops and orcomputers with these router's wireless settings. Then the laptops and desktopcomputers can communicate with your wireless router.

Can I change my security from WPA PSK RADO TYPE 802.11 N to WPA2 PERSONAL. WHich is the most secured - yes? Or do I have to re-install the entire software? Thank you

You can switch the security type at any time, but of course you will need to set all the wireless workstations to the new security type as well.
Also be aware that WPA2 is not supported properly, well, or at all on some network cards, and you may find that some devices will connect and others will not.
Honestly, WPA is very secure in your passphrase includes caps, small, numbers and at least one special character such as * or ? or or some such thing.
Also, if your passphrase is or contains a "non-word" like RaUoip or other nonsense that never appears in any known dictionary, you can bet nobody will take the years it would take to crack your WPA passphrase through brute force!
If you aren't currently using WEP (I can crack a 26 digit [13 hex digit, 26 character] key in as little as 8 minutes) then I really wouldn't bother changing to WPA2.

The WPA passphrase is the security code that you used to set up the wireless networking. If you can't find that passphrase you will need to reset the device and start over, including for all of your other devices.

I'm trying to log on with my visio tv & I need a wpa key#

To locate the security key please follow the below steps on a computer connected to the router:

1. Open a web browser like Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Safari.
2. Access the router's GUI by typing 'http://192.168.1.1' or 'http://www.routerlogin.com' in the address bar.
3. When prompted for Username and Password, please enter 'admin' for the Username and 'password' for Password.
4. Click on Wireless Settings (under Setup) from the left menu.
5. Check if WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) or WPA-PSK (Wi-Fi Protected Access Pre-Shared Key) is selected under 'Security Options'.
6. If WPA-PSK is selected, copy the code entered in the passphrase (or network key).
7. If WEP is selected, copy the code entered in the key that has been checked.

This is the code required for connecting the wireless deviceto the router's wireless network.
In some cases, for security reasons the passphrase might show as asterisks. In this case type a new Password and click apply. You will then have to use the same Password for all the wireless devices connecting to the network.

Please revert for any further clarification.

Regards

Anand

Security Keys or Passphrase

  1. Now we will secure you wireless connection to prevent others from connecting. Under the Home tab, click the Wireless option from the left.
  2. Beside the SSID option, enter the name for your wireless network connection.
  3. Beside Security, select WPA. If you can’t connect using WPA, then select WEP. Using WPA will provide a much more secure connection that using WEP. For more information about WEP and WPA please read Wireless Security: WEP and WPA.
  4. Click AES beside the Cypher Type.
  5. Make sure PSK is selected beside PSK/EAP.
  6. Now you must get very creative. Specify a long Passphrase with a mix of upper and lower case letters, numbers and punctuation. Once again, please read Creating Secure Passwords for tips on how to do this. In this case the longer the better. Make sure you write down this key somewhere, either on a piece of paper or in a text document on your computer. You will need this information when you connect to your wireless network.
  7. Enter your passphrase next to Passphrase and again beside Confirmed Passphrase.
  8. Click Apply to save your security settings.
  9. Now you are all done securing your wireless router and network. All you need to do is connect to your network, and enter your Passphrase exactly as you specified it. I won’t go into detail on how to connect to your wireless network, as I will save that for another post.
