Question about HP LaserJet 1012 Printer

I've had my printer for two years and it's always worked fine. Suddenly, it won't print documents. I've tried every normal troubleshooting step including power cycling the printer, unplugging the USB cord, uninstalling and reinstalling both the printer and the port. The printer works fine and prints a test page. Printer still will not print (it's a local printer only).

    I've uninstalled and reinstalled the printer. I get no error messages. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the printer port, still not working.

    Stopped the print server in services.msc, then restarted it. Rebooted computer. No change.

    Here is the summary of all the steps I've taken so far with no change:

    1. Power cycled the printer
    2. Unplugged the USB and checked its connection to the computer. Windows finds the USB connection just fine.
    3. Checked devise manager and there's no error message. Devise is "ready to print"
    4. Uninstalled the printer from Windows and reinstalled it.
    5. Uninstalled the printer port (LPT 1) and reinstalled it.
    6. Printed a self-test from the printer itself- printed fine.
    7. Not able to print any document, including Wordpad. Could not print from a DOS prompt.
    8. In services.msc disabled the print spooler, then reenabled it. No change.

Try to reinstall the driver/software of the printer. If possible, please provide me the error message that you are getting on your computer. Try to install the printer with other computer as part of the test. Let us if you can print using other computer.

    try to restart the print spooler service. Press start menu then type in at the start search bar services.msc. look under the list for PRINT SPOOLER service and double click on that. press STOP then wait for 5 secs. Press START then close the window and restart the computer. Test the issue again. Please provide me the model of your printer.

    could you try to install the computer to a different computer and see if you will be getting the same issue. We have two issue here its either the computer is not responding to the users request or the printer itself is not responding to users request.

The black ink on my Brother DCP-130C won't print and it's a brand new ink cartridge. I thought it was a defected cartridge so I bought another one, same thing. The other 3 colours print ok though....

I have the same problem. Everything on the printer is working just fine. It'll do a test page just fine, so everything's working right. The %$^ thing just won't print. It makes noise like it's printing when you give it a print job, but it spits out blank pages.

If you had done utility check and they are fine, had you try printing on a stand alone not using a computer. if you can print on a stand alone, there is no problem on the hardware side of the printer because u were able to print on a stand alone. you can focus now on the software side by uninstalling and re installing the driver of the printer and that should work.

Please check the mention below option

1) First you get any error in your printer screen

2) If you are print through Network please ping your printer if you are not getting the print.
Open command prompt and type ping 192........your pinter ip, if you r getting reply to your printer
its mean your connect to printer.

3) Remove your printer driver and install again.

My Dell V505 printer won't print documents from the computer, when I press print the printer prints a page of dash's and ticks. there is ink in the cartridges. i've disconnected the power....

Turn the printer off.
Disconnect the AC power.

On your computer, click Start
Click Control Panel
Click Printers
Select the Dell Printer
Uninstall it
Restart your computer
Turn the printer on
Allow the computer to reinstall the device-device for the printer.
Print a test page.

Printing suddenly slows down for no apparent reason

This is more likely a computer issue than a printer issue. The only way to prove it is essentially try the printer on another computer. Preferably one with more RAM and faster CPU.

You could try closing some of the running processes via the Task Manager. This would free up some resources and may help the process.
