Question about Lexmark X6170 All-In-One InkJet Printer
I have bought compatible cartridges for this printer but it states that a cartridges are missing. On checking the HP site I find that the printer is programmed to reject alternative cartridges. Is this correct? How do I overcome this?
Solution #1 doesn't make sense - "rest the ink" what's that about? I can find nothing in the Lexmark driver software that allows a cartridge to be refilled and reused or any other brand. Lexmark is ripping off consumers. And, melthomas, what's with the HP site got to do with Lexmark?

Try resetting the ink settings on the printer's program. I use compatable cartidges all the time in my lexmark no problems, as long as i always rest the ink before i start a new one. Try a good clean too. Why are you contacting hp site if your printer is a lexmark. You need the lexmark site. I thought your printer issue is with a lexmark z1420
