Console says replace belt unit even though I have minimal copies on the printer. Dell 3115 color laser

    Can you be specific on what tod do to reset to factory settings. Your original instructions were received garbled see below.



    Try and reset the power to the printer and re-install check the toner cartridge. If this doesn't help then please try and reset the printer to default factory settings. Y?? ??n reset ???r Dell printer by using 'Reset Dell Printer' icon. Y?? ??n g?t t? th?? icon in folder 'UAN'--> 'Logic Utilities' -->Reset Dell Printer. Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

    I do not see a reset dell printer icon, and as long as there is an error message I cannot access the menu. I must do the reset using functions available on the printer itself.

    When the printer is Ready (Copy, Scan, Fax appears in the LCD), press the 'down' button until Setup is indicated, then press the tick mark/check mark button.

    When the printer boots up it immediately display belt unit error and locks out all console buttons. Is there any other way to achieve factory settings.

You can reset your Dell printer by using 'Reset Dell Printer' icon. You can get to the icon in folder 'UAN'--> 'Logic Utilities' -->Reset Dell Printer.

    However, the above method only works when the machine is connected to the computer via USB cable. If the above method doesn't work then you would need to reset the NV-RAM of your printer. When the printer is Ready (Copy, Scan, Fax appears in the
    LCD), press the 'down' button until Setup is indicated, then press the tick mark/check
    mark button.


    Press the 'down' button until Admin Menu appears, then
    press the tick mark/check mark button.



    Press the 'down' button until Wired Network is displayed, then
    press the tick mark/check mark button.



    Press the 'down' button until Initialize NVM appears, then
    press the tick mark/check mark button.



    When the 'Are you sure?' message appears on the operator
    panel with the default indicated as No, press the left or right button to
    indicate yes, then press 'square' button. The display momentarily indicates
    Wired Network, Initialize NVM, Initializing... followed by Restart Printer to
    apply setting.



    When the display returns to Initialize NVM, turn the
    printer off, wait a few moments, and then turn the printer on.

    Click Start--> Search for Files or Folders--> search for the folder UAN. Double-click the UAN folder--> System Utilities folder-->Double-click the Reset Dell Printer icon.



    If unable to find UAN folder this way then the printer drivers are not installed and you would need to first install printer drivers on Computer before proceeding.

It's best to remove the fuser to get access to it. This video will show you how to remove it, and which levers to move to release tension in the pinch roller to clear the jam http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UjyggtF8d1k After you remove the jam make sure to do a close inspection on the internal roller (use a flashlight). If this printer is a few years old on the load paper tray there is 2 grey rubber rings they get a flat spot on them. replace and no paper problem till the next time they wear out

Dell 3110 laserjet printer, belt unit close to life


This message is displayed when the pagecount of the transfer belt is 80,000 (ish)+.

The rated life of the transfer belt in the Dell 3110/3115 is 100,000 pages.


After that pagecount the transfer belt 'expires' and no further printing is possible until the transfer belt is replaced.

RICOH CL7200 MAGENTA AND CYAN LINES ON COPIES


It sounds like the transfer belt needs to be replaced. They get scratched up and milky looking and the sensors can't see the color reg marks good enough. It could be other things also but the transfer is a good place to start.

Horizontal Striping Problem on a Dell 5100cn


As you have just replaced the drum you may have a faulty drum unit put old one back in a test if lines go way then return drum to store and get a replacement. If they do not go the check the toners and the fuser unit.
