Do you have a premum account with Hotmail ??
If yes - then setup outlook express with Hotmail...
if not.. then try this

Use MSN Instant Messenger as your contact management tool. Messenger contacts appear in the Hotmail address book for the same account (though not all Hotmail contacts will appear in Messenger - only those whom you've added to your Messenger contacts). Messenger includes both import and export functions for the contact list. Just log in to Messenger using one account, hit the Contacts menu, Save Contact List and save to a file. Then login to Messenger with a different account, hit Contacts, Import Contacts from a Saved File, load up the file, and you're done.
You may now be able to export from Meseenger and link with you new Hotmail.. Hope this helps.

Change of email address

The act of changing your email address is simple.
However, you can save yourself a lot of headaches by doing some planning before you begin. Just as with changing your home address, one of the main challenges with changing your email address is making sure that you do not loose any important contacts.
Another challenge to is avoiding bringing your old spam contacts with you.
A third challenge is to find an email address that fits your needs.

Gather your contacts into a single list.
Remember, that you probably have a lot more contacts than just the ones currently set up on your "favorite contacts" list on your email account.
Spend some time going through you email history and identify older contacts that you may not have used in a while, but which you do not want to loose.
Think about your needs before setting up a new email account.
Think about the kinds of attachments you like to send? Do you need higher capacity? Also think about what kind of interface your prefer.
Some prefer a simple, bare-bones interface, while others prefer something more elaborate.
Ask yourself if the address itself is important to you.
Some people are quite picky about this.
Ask yourself what you dislike about your current service.
This will help you to better pinpoint what you desire from your new service.
Check out your options.
There are a lot of free web-based email services out there.
These are great for some purposes, but if you need really high capacity, or require greater security, then you might want to look for a different type of service that you will need to pay for.
Read the privacy policy carefully of any email service you are considering.
Make sure you are not making any commitments you are uncomfortable with.
Test your new address.
Once you set up you new address, have a few close friend email you regularly for a few days to make sure it is really what you want before informing all you contacts.
Send out a single mass-mailing to all your contacts, once you have established your new address, and tested it.
Be careful to weed out all the spammers before you do this.
Keep your old email address active for a while after establishing your new address.
How long you need to do this depends upon how much email traffic you have.
The more traffic, and the more contacts you have, the longer you should keep your address active.
Generally speaking, your should plan to wait at least one month before abandoning you old address. In some cases, you may want to keep checking it for several months. Change Contacts on Hotmail

Transfer Hotmail Contacts
Hotmail is one of the oldest free email services that is still in use today.
However, as other email services have been created, more and more people are choosing to leave Hotmail for greener pastures.
Luckily, instead of having to manually transfer your entire contact list to your new service, create a file that automatically transfers the contacts for you.

Sign into your Hotmail account and go to your inbox.
Click on the link for "Options," which is located on the upper right-hand of your inbox.
Scroll down and click on the link for "More options..." On the new screen, scroll down toward the bottom and click the link to "Export Contacts."

Enter an eight-digit passcode when prompted to save your contacts onto your computer as a .csv file.
After entering the passcode, choose to save the new file on your computer.

Upload the .csv file onto whatever email service you want to use.
Each email service has a different method for importing the contacts, but they all allow the file that is in a .csv format to be uploaded.

Unable to open microsoft office outlook 2010 and link it to my hotmail acct

1. Upgrading to Outlook 2010 with a profile that contains at least one DAV and/or OLC 12 account
If your Outlook profile already included a Hotmail account, Outlook 2010 shows a dialog to indicate that in order to continue synchronizing between Outlook and the service you need to download and install Outlook Connector 14.

Clicking on "Upgrade Now" automatically starts the download of the OLC 14 package. Should you choose "Remind me later" you will still be able to browse the previously downloaded data for the Hotmail account, but you won't be able to synch until OLC 14 is installed. clip_image001_thumb.png Once Outlook 2010 is open the following message will be displayed in the main Outlook explorer if OLC 14 is needed: clip_image003_thumb.png Should you chose not to download the OLC and dismiss the message, Outlook offers another redirector in the BackStage - just select the Hotmail account in the account picker and the following prompt will appear: clip_image005_thumb.png Clicking on the Upgrade Now button will automatically start the download of the OLC 14.

2. Adding a @hotmail.com, @live.com or @msn.com accounts through the Add New Account dialog
Should you choose to add a new account that uses the @hotmail.com, @live.com or the @msn.com domain and OLC 14 is not installed, Outlook 2010 will prompt you to download and install it: clip_image007_thumb.jpg

Note: Should you choose not to install the OLC 14, Outlook 2010 will attempt to establish a connection to the server using the POP protocol. However this method only allows downloading your mailbox, while Outlook Connector also lets you view and update their Hotmail and Windows Live Inbox, Calendar and Contacts in Outlook.

How to export e-mail accounts from old email to the new one?

If you have an email address with another company, there is no way you can link up your hotmail to it directly. You will have to take note of all of your contacts, and re-add them manually, and perhaps send mail out to all of them to let them know the address has changed.

It used to be in the past, that microsoft would allow automatic forwarding of emails, however, they have since discontinued that, so you will have to check it frequently, to make sure people "get the message", so to speak, OR

There is another method. I don't usually keep the habit of openly advocating Microsoft products (Open source opens the door for so much more possibilities), however, I have found Windows Live Mail to be quite useful in circumstances for this. you can try one of two things, which can help with it-

1.) Run both accounts in the same client. You can accomplish this in the program, by using the "add accounts" feature to add your email accounts in. this will allow you to check your email and send messages in both clients, at least for alittle while. You will need to do a bit of searching for your new email companies "pop3/SMTP or IMAP settings", to configure your accounts for usage, however.

2.)Run both accounts in the Live Mail client, and transfer your old mail over to the new account. This can only be done if the new company you are with provides IMAP settings. All you would need to do once this is accomplished, is to Drag n Drop the messages over from folder to folder. I've tried this when transferrign mail from a client's hotmail account to her gmail account (with her supervision, of course).

3.) continually forward the mail over to your new account. easiest method available, and semi-effective, if you don;t mind the "fwd"s and your own email signature being marked on every message.

There is however, no way to transfer contacts, except manually. Sorry, but there is no easy way out when migrating email accounts. The companies just don't like each other.

Hope this helps. let me know if you need additional help with my suggestions, but let me know what company you switched to first.
