Question about Nor-Lake Freezer Norlake Refrigeration 6' x 6' Kold Locker Walk-In Freezer - 6' 7'' High w/Floor

1 Answer

Changing Freezers We have bought a new freezer. Our old one is beginning to make "funny" noises and we thought we should change before it went out. When the new freezer is delivered and we plug it in, how long should we let it run before transferring food from the old freezer to the new one? An additional problem is that we would like for the store to take the old freezer and dispose of it. Can we transfer frozen food immediately?

If your products are already in the frozen state the answer is yes, you can make an immediate transfer. Normally a couple of hours run to allow the temperatures to stabilize is sufficient. The cool down run time also insures the the unit is functioning properly. If you plug it in and transfer the products right away make frequent checks to insure proper operation.

Master-Bilt commercial freezer Bearings

If you can access the condenser fan, jam it with a screwdriver handle so it can't revolve. switch on and see if the noise still appears. If not, change the fan motor. If so, change the compressor.. Don't let the compressor run without the fan operating more than to test for the noise.

It probably means it has a bearing goin out in it they are usually pretty easy to replace if you go back to the store you bought it from thay should be able to order oyu a new one it is something that is reasonable priced at least on most occasions,.

Delfied Freezer6000XL freezing temps are not hold

Sounds like a refrigerant restriction in the system. Recover the refrigerant, replace the filter drier and pull a deep vacuum on the system before recgarging.

Freezer stopped cooling.

I hope the compressor isn't trying to come on. Best bet is to call a tech. If it is much ollder than 10-12 years old, you may be seeing the beginning of the end.

Upright freeze made a popping noise like a thermostat

If you heard the noise at a fairly routine rate and time it was probably the defrost timer motor. Locate it and you should be able to engage it manually. It is a plug and go part to replace. Be sure to take the old one along with the make n model # with you to the parts house!!

Hot mamamia,
Huuum her to give you good advice.

You said,
When i switched the fridge on it was making a buzzing noise every few minutes kept it on for 24hrs but still did not freeze it was too warm have been changing the temp of it but still nothing . It was bought 2nd hand but was definitely working as it came from family.

How old is the appliance?
If the appliance is 10 years old or more you may not be advisable to put good money into bad!
New appliances are so much more efficient today that they can save you a lot of money in energy!!!!
You need a hands on tech for this repair!

You will be fine

My Zanussi fridge/freezer is making a funny little noise

What you may be noticing is the system going through a defrost cycle. Check the time of the day that you notice this event. If it happens at the same times it could be a normal situation if at all other times normal temperatures are being maintained. A popping sound can be caused by thermal expansion during the defrost.
