Hello
You can use the 'Wide Mode" function of the TV to adjust 4:3 image to fit the entire screen.
Press the "wide" button on the remote control repeatedly to step through Wide Mode settings WIDE:ZOOM:NORMAL:FULL, and ZOOM.

The "wide mode" settings are also accessable in screen settings too.

To do this, surf through the Menu, come to Screen:TV page. You can select all modes there according to your viewing taste.
Wide Zoom: Fills the screen with minimum distortion.
Normal: Select display 4:3 picture in original size when the original source is 4:3.
Full: Select to enlarge the picture horizontally to fill the screen when the original source is 4:3 (standard definition source). When the original source is 16:9 9high definition source), select this mode to display 16:9 picture in its original size.
Zoom: Select to enlarge the original picture without distorting the aspect ratio.

NORMAL IS NOT AVAILABLE WHEN YOU ARE WATCHING A 720p, 1080p or 1080i SOURCE.OK

I'm trying to hook up picture in a picture with my TV using the HD dual tuner DVR DC H 6416 converter box. Is there a place that I can connect a cable to the box that has video out to use individually for...

The TV requires two inputs to use the PIP function. Your setup box Has multiple outputs, but the same picture comes out of all of them. The only way you can use PIP in your TV is to split the signal and connect it to both the set-top box and the TV. However; you will not receive the additional channels that the setup box picks up unless you use 2.

Some set top boxes already have PIP built in. If it does you can view a PIP display even if your TV does not have that feature. Because the cable box has 2 tuners built in they are designed to do two different things at one time. If yours has PIP capability they will proudly and prominently tell you about it in the instruction manual..

How to work pip in vizio tv

PIP or picture in picture works in two ways with the original remote--new sets with this actually have two tuners in them, one for main picture and one for PIP picture, you can change channels in both, swap the PIP to the main picture or even have both side by side.

Sure its got the PIP? what is brand and model number ?

Screen is completely black except for about 4 inches on top......

Try a reset of the display device or hit the menu button to get a display on the screen- If you get a full picture that way then you have some setting set wrong. It could also be a PIP- picture in picture mode that you only have one source put into the TV rather than two.

I have a T5054 TV and the picture has zoomed in and is way too big, however in the picture settings menu the zoom option is not highlighted in Component mode.

There could be a problem, but verify the settings as listed in the owner's manual as follows:

1 Press the MENU button to display the menu.
Press the ▲ or ▼ button to select Picture, then press the ENTER button.
2 Press the ▲ or ▼ button to select Size, then press the ENTER button.
3 Press the ▲ or ▼ button to select the screen format you want.
Press the ENTER button.
Press the EXIT button to exit.
16:9 : Sets the picture to 16:9 wide mode.
Zoom1 : Magnifies the size of the picture on the screen.
Zoom2 : Expands the Zoom1 format picture.
Wide Fit : Enlarges the aspect ratio of the picture to fit the entire screen.
4:3 : Sets the picture to 4:3 normal mode.
Just Scan : Use this function to see the full image without any cutoff when DTV
or HDMI 720p/1080i signals are input.
Press the P.SIZE button on the remote control to change the picture size.

And realize the restrictions as listed:

• In TV, VIDEO, S-VIDEO, and COMPONENT(480i, 480p) modes, all screen
modes can be selected. (16:9 ➞ Zoom1 ➞ Zoom2 ➞ 4:3)
• In COMPONENT(720p, 1080i) or HDMI(720p, 1080i) mode, 16:9, 4:3 and
Wide Fit can be selected.
• In Zoom1, Zoom2 and Wide Fit modes, you can move the picture on the
screen by pressing the ▲ or ▼ button.
•You can not change the picture size when PIP is set to Double.
•When Double ( , ) mode has been set in PIP, the Picture Size cannot
be set.
•Wide Fit can be used when watching a Digital HD (High Definition) signal.
Wide Fit sets the optimum picture format by expanding it both horizontally and
vertically. For example, you can reset the picture in 4:3 format to 16:9. Wide Fit
does not support all external devices (DVD, VCR etc.).
