Stopped printing text, will print pictures, reinstalled drivers & new Blk cart.
Canon Multipass MP730 has stopped printing emails, word docs, etc. but will still print pictures. Thought black cartridge was empty so changed~same result. Removed & re-installed drivers same thing. Only blank page comes out. Thanks in advance

Unclip it again and clean contacts on both printer and cartridge with a lint-free paper and a little alcohol (isopropyl alcohol if you have it). Clip it back and run the head cleaning and alignment routine; that should be enough.
Go to Cannon's support/driver download site and get a new driver for the new internet brownser. Most of these printing software packages don't play nice with browser updates, usually, you have to get a patch or an install package for the new browser.
this is a strange one. First I would try Reboot Computer and printer make sure to remove power cables for ten seconds before power up (Both Machines). Hope your firewall is up to date. I find when I get weird one like this I delete the driver and reload after cleaning clearing paper paths. Good luck.
This may noy have a solution. sorry. if the cart actually moves and then it crashes onto one side, your problem could be the printing head. this is much more expensive than a new printer. you may wanna try to change cartridges (both) and see if it responds. sorry to say :S
hi, i was having the exact same problem with my printer. and i also tried reinstalling the driver. after reading your post i decided to see if the printing problem occurred when i used the other colors, and it looks like it's only a problem with the black ink. i printed out a sheet with the text in red and another in blue and they came out perfectly. but the black grid that surrounded the blue text, still looked problematic.
so... that means that the black ink is the problem. i haven't tried putting in a new cartridge. did you say that your problem occurred after you put in a new black cartridge, or did you try putting in a new black cartridge and you still had the same problem?
When trying to print color documents or photos using our Canon MultiPASS 700, the photo or document will have stripes all the way through it. It has also developed a problem of having fine lines that do not print when we are printing a black and white document.
You listed a canon multipass mp730, canon has the drivers available for download at
http://alpha03u.c-wss.com/inc/ApplServlet?SV=WWUCA900 for Windows 98 and above. What OS are you trying to find it for?
Is the issue the same with a anormal text document or just with heavily colored docs?
If the text doc gets printed fine, then it is an issue with print spooler and we might need to work on that.
revert & lemme know
