Question about Water Heaters

1 Answer

Powerpoint Dishwasher TW25 when the cycle is finished there is a lot of water left on the bottoms of cups/mugs. Drying part of the cycle does not appear to be very efficient. Any suggestion, please?

Hi,
Check to see if you are getting power to the heating element on the drying cycle....to do this you will need to remove the kickplate and then run the DW to the dry cycle...

If you have power and no heat then the element is bad... no power to the element and the main board is probably bad or the heat switch is bad... test to see which it is...

My bet would be the heating element...

Why doesn't Krups FME214/86B coffee maker turn on?

sounds like a loose internal connection, best left to pro but if you can remove the bottom panel you should be able to id the culpret. If its in the top portion (depends on where you tap it) it's a lot of work to get into that area.

Whirlpool dishwasher WDF510PAYS dishwasher isn't drying. We're using a rinse aid and it's on the max setting and we are using high heat dry. Dishes are still coming out wet. Any suggestions?

Check the heating element in the bottom of the unit for any signs its damaged. If looks OK, check its continuity, for a short to ground, and the voltage at the terminals.

Water left in dishwasher at end of cycle

Probably a bad or cloged pump. If the discharged water goes to a garbage disposal system then try to remove the hose from the dishwasher and see if it is cloged. This is what usually happens.

Good luck,

Marty

Brand new whirlpool dishwasher starts on own

Because you cheated and filled it manually, it may be that the second running was actually resetting the programme. Do a normal wash, and if it does it again, contact the maker for advice.

Powerpoint tw23 dishwasher heater working but no heat

I have the same model with the same problem. I think you will find that there are two temperature sensors which are located under the heater. (one at the bend and the other further along the heater. The one at the heater bend ie at the back right hand corner of the washer will be the problem. It is a non-resetting switch which trips out at 90c. To change it you need to remove the small metal panel at the back. You may need to remove screws holding the casing together to achieve this. ( Dont forget to switch the power off & remove lower tray)
Remove the wires from the two spade terminals. Put a multimeter across the terminals. If it is duff there will be no change in the meter reading.(If good the meter will read 0 - short cct.)
The thermostat unscrews from the housing - be careful because the housing might loosen instead and then you will have to put that back in . Pop in the replacement and refit the wires. Reassemble & test.

Top element only working

How they work. First you need to know that cold water goes into the tank near the bottom (because of the "dip tube" inside the tank) and hot water is taken out at the top. Also hot water naturally rises.
so... when the tank is full of cold water the top element will come on and heat up the top 1/3 of the water then the bottom element will come on and finish heating the rest of the tank.
so... set them both at the temperature you want the water to be... about 120^F.
