It will get your computer going again. It maybe due to a loose connection, you will want to go to each connection and ensure that it is properly connected. Pay special attention to the 24Pin mainboard power connector and the 4Pin CPU power connector.
Your power supply may have died, however it may be the mainboard that has died due to a leaked or blown capacitor.
