Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: teac digital set top box prompt every five seconds

I had the same problem - pretty easy fix. You'll need a usb flash drive with all other files removed. Go to following link:

http://www.teac.com.au/pages/hdb842softwareupgradever161008

Print out the instructions and make sure you have winzip installed on your computer. Instructions were pretty easy to follow and seemed to fix the problem. I haven't watched the TV for a long period of time, but it seemed to sort out the problem you described and system seemed to run better than previously eg. didn't hang - receception better.

Good luck

SOURCE: teac hdb820

I just did a factory reset this morning and I had the same problem until I realised that you have to use the "Output" button to get the Video Outputs to DVI Digital (see page 17 of the manual), if that's what your connection is, then I could select "menu" and do a channel search. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Remote control for teac set top box HDB842 will not work .

I had the same problem and tried new batteries with no success until I had a close look at the terminals. One of the +ve terminals was rusted (Ithink a drink spill, hastilly wiped off). After restoring this terminal everything is now OK. Hope this helps.

Codes are in the remote. If you are using a TEAC remote with a TEAC STB, you may be able to find something that will work.

I am unable to find the owners manual for the Teac MC-DV100 SuybWoofer

For almost any set-top box, there isn't a sub-woofer output. Without that output (it would be labeled on the STB), you can't hook up a subwoofer directly to it.

HOWEVER, the model number you give isn't just a subwoofer: it's a whole sound system with a subwoofer attached to it. If you have the whole sound system, you just hook the STB's audio output to the amplifier's "Aux Input" (it might also be called "line input").

If your model doesn't have that (can't tell from the web), you'd have to buy an "AV Receiver" that has at least a 5.1 set of outputs. These start at maybe $150 new, $50 on eBay. MAKE SURE YOU BUY A RECEIVER WITH A "powered" SUBWOOFER OUTPUT!! You connect the receiver to the STB, and the subwoofer to the receiver.

2819,2883. Check these codes. If you wish to get more details; check the sites linked here. It has set-up code list & set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. Common set-up codes to check with TVs and other devices are given, in the order of the "device's brand name" in alphabetical order. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience. Surf the sites by type in the brand name to your set, in its search box.

Hi, Your set top box (PVR) is running on channel 3 or 4. Go to menu and sellect a source TV, DVD
Note: Do not connect more than 1 set of cables to tv or you may damage something.
TV > box connect RCA cable or HDMI not both.
Set top box > connect RCA or HDMI Not both.
audio devices > TV connect RCA or HDMI not both.

I have a digital set top box model teac dv-b800.this unit now has a flashing c-100 code has soon has you power same up and nothing else. Can you tell me the problem.

appears to be a known issue with your model of set top box and teac is aware of the issue, but will only repair for free if you are within your 12 month warranty period, if you are outside warranty, consider repairs as they are approx 60.00 and the fix appears to resolve the issue.

Cheers!

Failed tv reception after about an hour????

Witout knowing your set up I can only guess at the set top box getting hot and failing.
Is the Teac box well ventillated? If not, put it somewhere where it can get cool air (ie not enclosed in a TV cabinet for instance).
I doubt it's your antenna if it works for a while, but you maty want to have your coax connection checked out. If you use a booster, that may be failing.
Sorry I can't be of any further use.

Born to Race,

I have just bought a TEAC HBD841 which was on discounted sale at a local Electrical Store
Besides not being able to figure out how to connect the device to my elderly TV because the inadequate instruction booklet that is written in a language an Electrical Engineer would have difficulty understanding - does not explain which plugs go where, (try plugging a three plug lead into a 2 plug TV) but since then I have found out that the HDB841 has been withdrawn from sale and is no longer available.
No wonder it was cheap!
I suggest you get rid of it - quick
