Question about Gateway Computers & Internet

In order to upgrade my windows xp I was given http://support.gateway.com/s/SOFTWARE/MICROSOF/7509594/installs/750959407.shtml. It did not work.

This refers to installation of windows, there are no upgrades to XP only updates, the only upgrade there is is to instll Vista, this you have to buy

Why not just kill the Virus? Use your up-to-date Anti Virus and run a FULL scan, delete ALL results. Use MALWAREBYTES freeware at : http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/ In the install UNCHECK the TRIAL PRO version, you want the freeware version, run a FULL scan, delete ALL results, reboot. Computer won,t startup due to corupted file or system failure


if it hapends after a power out, and is windows xp on in u will need the original xp cd and press repair, after u will need to write down some comands :

fixboot
fixmbr

after that all will be ok if only files are damage , other wise..u will need to reinstall windows on computer
