The most likely reason for this is overheating and/or loose RAM modules. Be sure to raise the rear of the laptop off the surface of the table to allow greater air to flow through the system. Check that the RAM modules are indeed installed, take them out clean the gold finger connectors with tissue paper and then reinsert them.

Take care!

Dell latitude e5510 laptop got blue screen saying that a problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer but it wont do anything ele's help any one

have you made any changes before the blue screen appear? installing a driver maybe? if you have, try to undone those changes by booting with Startup with last known good configuration (undo recent registry and driver change),use System Restore,or Roll Back device driver,Scan your computer for viruses
and Return BIOS settings to their default levels,go to BIOS by pressing F2 or del exactly after you press the power button and the screen show up
if it still in blue screen, that's probably that some of your system file is missing, and you need to reinstall your operating system
Please let me know if it's working or not,i don't like to abandon anyone, and thanks for using fixya

Maybe is a software problme ????

While booting up, just after BIOS lists computer peripherals (prior to WIndows logo), press F8 repeatedly. In the menu pick Safe Mode (Command Prompt). If the blue screen of death doesn't appear, type chkdsk /r and hit Enter. This might fix some hard disk issues that were preventing normal boot up.

ERROR MESSAGE READS...

There seems to be some corruption on the hard drive. You need to boot up the laptop from the Windows installation cd. Once "Setup" has started, you need to look for the option "Recovery Console". Once loaded you may get asked which installation you want to log onto. Type in 1 and press Enter. Then type the following: CHKDSK /P and press Enter. This will run a checkdisk and more than likely report that it has fixed some errors on the drive. Now type EXIT and press enter. The system should now reboot, remember to remove the Windows installation cd. If this fails, you may have to take the laptop to an authorised dealer.

Try starting it in safe mode. (Hold F8 after power on). If you get your icon screen go to start, run and type in msconfig. Click startup and disable all the items. Hit OK and try a normal restart. This error can be caused by a bad program starting up.
