Hi, Have tried all I can on the net, just bought a nice AF Micro Nikkor 60mm 1:2.8 D lens, but cannot find any instructions on how to use it. Plenty of great reviews on it though! Many thanks Rob. Melbourne

Find an approved Nikon repair facility. You have to send it in for a quote. If you approve the repair (quote) they will repair it. If it is very old and they cannot repair it they will tell you.

ON DISPLY, APERTURE SHOW fEE AND DONT SHOOT

In all but aperture priority mode and manual modes you must set this lens to it's minimum aperture setting (i.e. highest number) to allow the camera body to fully control the aperture for you.

You'll also get this problem when using certain Nikon bodies which rely solely on electronic communication of the lens settings to the camera body (e.g. Nikon F75) as they lack the ability to read the mechanical linkages on the rear of the lens.

Trouble with auto focus nikon auto nikkor 60 mm f2.8D

Lock it at f/32. Autofocus lenses have a lock for smallest aperture (highest number) because that is wht the camera body expects. The lock won't engage at any other position.

Camera will not take picture with nikkor 105mm lens

Check if the lens is properly mounted. If still you get the error message, clean the electrical contacts between the lens and the camera using an eraser. Take care not to let any dust fall into the body. Attach the lens and try.

Error message

You might want to check the position of the aperture ring on the lens. If it is not set at the highest number, ( IE smallest aperture, f22,f32 ), then the camera will display that error message
