When you say it worked before do you mean with the xbox connected directly to the projector as I can't understand where the sound came from as neither the projector or xbox have speakers?

OK, What are the settings in the audio menu? (Volume, Mute, Power On/Off Volume & Alarm Volume)

  • Andy Turner May 28, 2011

By 100 I presume you mean the Blue bar all the way to the right.

If this is correct then could you please reconnect and confirm 1) The Xbox sound still works when connected to the TV & 2) The TV sound still works when connected to the Projector. Both using the same HDMI Cable that you're currently using to connect your Xbox to the Projector.

If Xbox to TV & TV to Projector are OK then I can't understand why Xbox to Projector Isn't working. The only suggestion I have is to get a 2nd HDMI Cable and connect Xbox to TV & TV to Projector as you know this works. I still can't understand how it works as all TVs I'm aware of do not put Audio Out through HDMI.

I want to connect my Philips HTS3357 Home Cinema System to my Panasonic PT-AE900E LCD Projector, How do I go about putting it altogether so it works with my xbox360/PS3

Generally speaking, if your Home Cinema system is able to pass-thru video as well as audio, you'll want to take the HDMI cable from the XBOX video out, into the Home Cinema system's input (any HDMI input should be fine), and then run the HDMI video out to your projector. Any other devices you want to be able to project as well (DVD/BluRay, PC, Cable, Satellite, etc.) would also be plugged into the Home Cinema system as "in" devices, like the XBOX.

When you want to display one of those devices, you would select that "in" port's input name in the Home Cinema system (for example, if the XBOX is connected to the HDMI in that is labeled "aux", you will switch the cinema system to Aux Input, and the projector should immediately begin getting the signal from the theatre system. To switch to another device, you simply change the Input channel on the Home Cinema.

The audio also, providing the device (the XBOX) can carry it on the HDMI cable, will also be delivered to the Home Cinema. Some devices cannot carry sound on HDMI (though many can). For those, you will need to run an HDMI cable for the video, and also an optical cable or other type of audio-only cable, for its audio. You do not need to run an audio cable to the projector though, as the projector is only for video. The Home Cinema will take care of the sound itself.

Denon 1312 receiver composite video inputs do not work.

I'm having the same problem with my Wii output. The manual for the Denon AVR-1312 says that analog video signals (i.e. component/composite outputs from the Wii) are not converted to digital video signals (i.e. HDMI output from the rcvr). I'm running only HDMI to a projector, so the video signal is essentially lost. The fix appears to be to run an additional composite cable all the way to the projector. Sounds like your fix is the same. No Wii tonight! :(

I have an optoma HD20 and it connects using a 1.5m HDMI but as soon as i try a 10m HDMI connection (even with a booster it does not connect) any suggestions welcomed?

Hi kgomer782 I have similar issue. My optoma hd20 signal connection with a 3/6ft hdmi cable is perfect. However, no signal is detected when connected to a 35ft hdmi 1.4 cable. The 35ft cable is indeed working becuase I tested it succesfully when connected to a 1080p HDTV. Did you received any solution to your problem? I wonder if it has anything to do with the HD20 design of the "debossed" hdmi ports that prevents the cable plug from getting completely "seated" in the port? My 35ft cable has a flat square male ending however, the 3/6ft cables have slim male ending that seems to accomodate perfectly in the Optoma's hdmi port design...kaufmanekpr

Lose audio unless projector is on or unplugging hdmi cable from sharp xr-32x projector. works fine when watching projector

Your receiver is sensing the video source. Try using optical, or coaxial digital audio for an input, this may work.

The Bose VS2 does not pass the HDMI audio. Must connect analog or digital audio direct to the corresponding audio input on the media center. Also, verify you have loaded laster Console Software revision provided by Bose.
