Behringer SL3242fx Eurodesk
this sound desk runs correctly for the job of mixing, until it is switched off - momentarily. That is for instance switched off and then turned on again. This leads the unit in to a fault condition, 1. no output signal mix from the unit & no display on its' LCD control panel.
I have removed the coverings on the unit to allow open access to the circuitry and run a no load test. I feel that it is due the power supply within the unit as the largest capacitor : a 180 micro-farad 400 volt = is swelling excessively (also leaking).
please advise with your opinion to the solution to repair the unit or approach to the problem described.

unfortunatly this would not be a user servicable problem and would need to go to the shop. Here is a link to Behringer contact page. Scroll down to the Locate a service center link. BEHRINGER Limited Warranty
Behringer will not release schematics unless you are an authorized service agent... however, sometimes you can make do with the few schematics floating around... What is the problem with the unit? They typically use a switching power supply and the schematics of those aree usually similar enough to repair them.
WIthout a quality audio interface the answer is you don't... You need to procure an audio interface for the computer. The internal audio systems of computers are too noisy to get decent results. The manual for the mixer will show the typical studio connection with a suggested audio interface.
