How do I fix a block that has pulled the threads out of the hole for the head bolts. This engine is a dual overhead cam out of a 2001 cadilac

3 things you can do here;

1 You can re-tap the hole one size larger and use a larger diameter bolt or stud. If you use this solution the component being bolted down will have to have a clearance hole drilled in it to take the larger diameter bolt or stud

2 If you're dealing with stripped stud hole you can re- tap the hole one size larger and use a" stepped " stud . One end is the larger thread the rest of the stud is the original diameter and thread.

3 The best solution, particularly if your dealing with a thread in an aluminium casting, is to fit a thread insert. These are sold under a range of names e.g Helicoil, Recoil, and come as a kit made up of a tap, a quantity of thread inserts and an insertion tool. Each kit only covers one thread size.

Hope this helps

Casio dw-290-t, springs came out when changing battery, I know wher 1 goes not the other?

The smaller spring is steel with gold plating. It goes into a hole that is near the outside diameter of the battery. You must remove the outer steel retainer to see the hole. Leave the other parts assembled. They will be loose at this point. When you look inside the hole you should see a gold bottom which is really a contact on the board. Insert the spring with the smaller diameter end into the hole. If you have the correct hole then the larger end of the spring will fit just perfectly. Assemble the outer steel retainer. Finish assembly.

Next time you replace the battery only remove the battery strap and leave the other parts intact. Good luck.

Where do the springs go

If a single small diameter spring, it should go under the wire feed tensioner and a larger diameters pring should be on the wire spool, You will have a different sized spring diameter for the 1 pound spools than you will have for the 3 or 5 pound spools. so you should end up with one "extra" at any given time.

Lid won't close. Seems like the o-ring diameter is too big but it is the part leslies gave me for this specific pump.

O-rings are pretty easily mixed up in stock. Leslie probably did give you the wrong size. If you still have the old one, you can easily compare them. Stretch the two of them simultaneously between two pencils or screw drivers to see if the inside diameters are the same. If one is smaller is will stretch out straight before the larger one does. To check the thickness, lay them adjacent to each other on a nice flat surface and put a straightedge across them, it will be pretty easy to see if the straightedge tips a bit. Good luck, Al K

I am replacing all the fuel line including primer bulb on a craftsman mini tiller/cultivator. is there a drawing or diagram to show which line goes where?

I see that this machine has a 2 stroke engine. These directions work on the 2-stroke engines of Sears trimmers. I've never seen a diagram but many explanations are out there.
The small diameter line out of fuel tank (has fuel filter in-tank on end) connects directly to the side of the carburetor that has the fuel pump....that is the cover without the hole in it. Other larger diameter fuel line out of tank connects to the longer nipple on the external purge/primer bulb. The bulb "pulls" fresh fuel from the fuel tank to the carb and then out of the carb to itself, where it then pushes any air/old fuel back into the fuel tank. The remaining larger diameter fuel line in this setup goes from the metering chamber (has cover with writing on it and a vent-hole) side of the carburetor to the smaller nipple on the purge/primer bulb. Again, on the primer bulb, the longer nipple has a line going directly from it to the tank. The shorter nipple on the bub has a line from it going to the metering chamber side of the carburetor. If the purge/primer bulb is on top of the carb...small line from carb body to small hole in tank with filter. Larger diameter line goes from the bulb on the fuel pump side of the carb to the larger hole in the fuel tank where the line is held in place with a nylon nipple connector that keeps the line from pulling out of the tank.

Can you change the tyre size set up on a bmw x5 without any issues

Yes and no. Yes you can change the tire size and go up. Your car is equipped with 225/50-17 if I am not mistaken. What you need to be concerned with it not increasing or decreasing the overall diameter of the wheel/tire combination. The diameter of you wheel/tire is 25.9". If you go to a larger or smaller diameter tire you speedometer and odometer will be off. To check the sizes and how they effect the diameter go to this site. Put your OEM size in and then check different sizes and how they effect diameter. http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html You can on some cars, for a fee, have the ECU reprogrammed for a larger tire by the dealer. Contact your BMW dealer to find out.

55cc air induction chain saw wont start, keeps flooding

what do you mean by flooding?
if it is overflowing?
try to remove the 4 screw underneath the carb,
take out the diaphragm, and then followed by float valve..
there is a tiny spring,be very careful...
stretch the spring a lil bit more at about 2mm...

as time passes, the diaphragm deteriorate and one way to correct them is by stretching the tiny spring to give more strain on the diaphragm...

this is what i did if i am too lazy to go out and buy the diaphragm kit..
only 10 bucks...hehe

ESTRO VAPORE

I just took mine apart, and put it back together. Of the three holes for the screws, there are two smaller and one bigger hole. Align the larger hole on the filter and the base, and the tiny plastic bit and the spring go in to the larger, along with the hollow and larger screw.
