This may sound ridiculous but check and see if the camera is in the holder upside down :) It is possible, but very unlikely, that the software is inverting the image... but it is much more likely that the camera itself is upside down.

The webcam image can be inverted in your webcam settings. You should have a box to do a horizontal flip and a vertical flip. Open your webcam software or if its just a simple 'plug and play' webcam you can do it in Skype or any chat program
For Skype >tools>options>video settings> webcam settings
Run through the tabs looking for a check box to do a vertical flip
