You need to press and release the battery so that it clicks out of the hold hooks. Here is a copy of your manual. See page 10 of the manual:

How do i open a kenwood th-234 battery pack? all the manuals i have seen shows a release lever in the battery pack. mine do not have one.

If you are talking the battery pack itself, it is possible you have a NiCd battery instead of the Alkaline battery shell. If your battery does not have the locking tab to press on the battery pack, look for the part number and description on the battery itself and see if it matches what is in the user guide.

Cannot remove battery pack from scooter.

This battery box attaches to the base platform with some very aggressive Velcro. The bottom of the box has a battery connector that mates up to the platform when the box is put on the scooter. The easiest method is to pull straight up on the battery box using the handle of the box. You will feel the Velcro release. Use 2 hands and wiggle it slightly. Some earlier versions had a battery box that actually locked into the base. This battery box required pulling out the flat release levers on both vertical sides of the box to release the battery box. I am going from memory on this.
If you need another technique, try removing the seat first and stand straight over the battery box. Bending your knees and grabbing with both hands pull the battery box handle straight up. It should release.
Before reinstalling vacuum and clean the platform and bottom of the box so that dirt is not keeping the surfaces from sliding easily.
Hope this helps.

Battery dead, boosts do not work, shift lever stuck in park. How do I get the shift lever to release so I can put in neutral?

Your car will not release into park unless you have charge in the battery. There is an electric solenoidwhich keeps it from releasing. It's used for safety reasons in case your kids are playing in the car.

I have an old Asahi Pentax, release lever and shutter are stuck.

The Pentax is a easy fix, maybe.. If you feel comfortable removing the bottom cover, then remove the 3 cross point screws. The battery, if installed will be loose. Looking at the bottom section of the camera, locate the tripod socket. On on side is the battery compartment, the other an L shaped lever. Under the L shaped lever is a brass plate with a slot in it. In that slot is another lever that has a spring going through the end eyelet. Move that lever toward the front of the camera until it latches on the L shaped lever above. Then try the release.

The first thing to try on the X700 is fresh batteries. Clean the battery cap and contacts with a pencil eraser.

I dont know how to take off the battery

If it is a laptop battery you will need to flip it over and there will be a release switch / lever. You will need to slide the lever to activate the release. This will usually pop up the battery, but if not then slide the release and there should be a way to pry up the battery. Hope this helps.

Nail gun won't fire

Try this. Take the handle off the tool per the cleaning instructions. Install the battery and push down on the roller lever in the upper handle. It's located close to the fan blade. (Item 27 on the tool schematic.) Keep your finger out of the way or the fan will bite you.
If the fan goes on, then the roller lever is bent and needs replacing or adjusting.
If the fan does not go on, release the lever and pull the trigger. If the fan works, then the molded circuit board needs to be replaced.

Film advance

In most film cameras, a battery is not necessary to manual advance film using the lever. Your Canon AV-1 is no exception. I have owned two cameras from the same group, the AE-1 and the Canon A-1. Neither required a battery for manual film advance.

Make sure the ring around the shutter release button is set to "A", otherwise the shutter won't release and the film lever won't work correctly. If the ring shows an "L", the shutter release is locked.

Here's a graphic of the batteries that can be used in your AV-1:
