Question about Heating & Cooling
That is the status light and it indicates a controller failure - most likely the water you used to wash the external unit has got in and shorted a control relay. To fix that the unit will have to be opened and the electronics board tested to find the faulty part - a job only a pro can do it, you will have to call one.
The water that leaks from the unit is a normal part of the operating cycle - the water vapor from the atmosphere condenses on the cold coils of the evaporator and it drips . The quantity of dripping water is directly proportional with the humidity in the atmosphere so more leaking water during the rainy periods of the autumn is totally normal.
