SOURCE: RX-V2090 Bass Output Problem

A couple things to check on the no bass problem:
1) Make sure your center speaker is set for normal, not large.
2) Make sure your speakers wires are in phase (+ conn. to + and - conn. to -).

SOURCE: How do I use the remote to cont bass & treble for rxv-657 reeiver

No, Tone controls are on the front of the unit only. If your passing video thru the unit you can go into the setup menu from the harmony and adjust all the sound parameters that way "on screen" The only "EQ" capabilities are for the Center channel only. You can adjust "speaker size". "Large" setting will give you a little lower response. "Small" will crossover the speaker at "100hz" That's about as far as tone adjustment goes on this unit. Hope this helps

I would consult your owner's manual but I don't think you can adjust the bass/treble levels on the zone 2 outputs.

Because my rear speakers are popping and crackling during DTS output, I believe my settings of bass or treble might be overloading my speakers... should I set the rear speakers to "flat"? should...

Cracks and pops are dangerous. Can you tell if they might be circuit overloads or maybe digital decoding errors?

Are you routing bass to small speakers. THAT would definitely have audible problems. Define all of your speakers Large vs Small based on their bass-handling capacity.

ONLY DTS? Probably NOT the speakers or amps. How many sources are involved? Could be with the source or cabling.

Does it happen at low volumes, too? Then it would probably be digital in origin.

Do the indicators various digital surround mode indicators flicker or turn off when the pops appear?

As for the rest of your questions, I'd set everything at flat and start all over. If you're maxxing out any settings, something is wrong.

How do i adjust the treb/bass?

my initial reply was...On the function button you may need to depress it for 3 seconds to activate base, treble, balance etc But
then I found this, "Rotary Volume Control: The CD receiver uses a 7-way rotary volume control that increases and decreases the volume of the stereo from 0 to 35. The rotary knob also controls other audio settings such as Balance, Fader, Bass, Mid, Treble and preset EQ settings. In addition, the rotary knob allows you to scroll through and select your music tracks when the Music Search function is activated.
Cheers, this should help ya.

I need to find out what buttons control the bass and treble

Press in on the volume control repeatedly to step through the menu of audio functions. The
first option is Volume, followed by subwoofer (only if the subwoofer feature is currently
activated), Bass, Treble, Balance, Fader and back to Volume. When adjusting audio functions,
the unit will automatically exit audio control mode after five seconds of inactivity

Help

Hi Cassie, unless your receiver is a surround reciever, it won't have an actual subwoofer output. The good news is that you can use either a "line out" jack or a "tape out" jack instead, which most receivers do have. These jacks always have the signal, so there are no special settings to remember - simply operate your receiver as usual. Everything comes out of these jacks, not just the bass - but it won't matter since your subwoofer will only reproduce the bass frequencies. The bass information is generally identical in both left and right channels, so either the right or left jack should work fine, and it's okay to leave the other one unconnected. The only bad thing is the line and tape outputs are not affected by the receiver's bass and treble controls, so you'll have to control the bass volume at the subwoofer if it has a control. If you can't control the amount of bass you hear, turn up the volume and reduce the treble which will give the illusion of more bass. I'm assuming you have "powered" subwoofer (has its own built-in amplifier). Good luck!
