Hi cali,

You mentioned you get 3 beeps from your motherboard.

have trie reseating your Rams and your Video Card if you hav en expansion Video Card.

Also reseat all the power cables on your motherboard making sure that all are conencted properly.

I believe you dont get any video on the Monitor right, not even BIOS will show on thew screen.

If ever anything new is added try ti remove it first and see if the system will boot into windows or even POST.

I hope this helps.

Have a nice day,

If they're happening during POST (After the bios screen loads but before the OS boots), it could mean a memory error. Also, it can depend on the length. If they're three short beeps, it's the memory. Long and short combinations mean different things as well. You can find a good description of different beep codes in the source.

You can verify a memory error using memtest86+. It's a burnable ISO you can easily find on google. Turn it on and let it go and it will let you know if any tests fail. If they do, it could just be one of your cards. Try taking one of the cards out and turning the computer on to see if it still beeps. If it does, switch cards. Also try putting them in different slots. Usually the combination of switching cards/slots will let you know if it's a bad card, or a bad slot.

Msi 870-g45 failing to POST?

hi, i had a similar issue some time ago, dependng on your hardware i would suggest you look into a psu tester, or swap it out for a friend's psu, i assume you've ripped everything apart and put it back together to see if some dust was shorting somewhere, is it related to heat maybe, expansion of cracking can sometimes occur in computers that have gotten hot in the past, especially in the circuitry behind the cpu.

Good luck

I have no on board video or external video via the agp video card. computer emits no beeps during boot prosess. all power supply voltages are available.

I've got a via p4m266. and I've found that it does that if you put the cmos reset jumpers on the reset setting. check for one stand alone jumper across 3-pins, check readings on board for location of cmos reset jumpers & move jumper to bridge the unbridged connection.

Describe your VIA MSI: MSI P4PAM2-V Prescott/Socket478/ VT8751A/FSB533/DDR166/A&V&L/MATX Motherborad Motherboard Problem I lost the cd driver for my motherboad?how can i get it for free?

There is a difference in the heading and the model you give in the post. If this is a P4MAM2-V then the site to download the drivers is:

P4MAM2-V Support

MSI has no results for a P4PAM2-V, so I am hoping the above link is sufficient.

Thanks for using Fixya.
