Not knowing the brand of your TV I can only give you a basic reply to your question, Most larger TV's have rca inputs on the back, ( some are on front for easy viewing and removal) From the output of the DVD system,, you will have a red, white , and yellow RCA connectors, plug them into the inputs for video on the TV as follows,, Red to the right speaker, white to the left , and yellow goes to the video,, ( your TV should have them color coded anyway ,, turn on the dvd and TV,, switch the TV to video,, and your in business

I have a Technics Hi Fi stereo system model sa-eh760. I would like to connect it to me DVD and LG flat screen television but not sure how to do it. It doesn't have an optical lens and of course it does not...

TV's these days are not fitted with RCA audio out sockets, which makes it difficult to connect with older types of hi-fi.
However you can get an HDMI to RCA converter box.
There's some on e-bay below:

No sound when using the TV

1- Find the two audio out female RCA jacks on your tv. One is red one is white. Some older tvs may not have any, if so you are out of luck.
2- Purchase a stereo patch cord (male x male RCA) long enough to reach the LG's Subwoofer.
3- Connect the red and white plugs to the tv output and connect the red and white plugs to the "Aux In" female RCA jacks on the subwoofer.
4- Select stereo input for sound on the LG's user interface.

You will be able to upconvert the stereo input to various surrond modes by studying the control manual.

In car connection

I believe that jack is an AUX RCA connection.  As far as I know they dont make that cable but you may be able to bypass that|39:1|66:2|65:12|240:1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

and use a straight RCA connector and that should work.
