Question about HP Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

What could be the problem?? I have recently started to get somewhere with my designjet 430 printer, teething problems getting the correct drivers proved a problem but have that sorted! I have now ran into a new problem and hopefully someone out there can enlightenen me please! I turn the printer on and the will get the 3 amber lights indicating that the media, paper, cartridges etc have a problem, but when i manually remove the ink cartridges and close the cover the printer will power up successfully and indicates that the cartridge light flashes amber.. Once i replace the cartridges things are set up and ready to print. First question is why does the printer lights reset to flashing amber as i dont want to have to keep taking the ink cartridges out each time! Second problem is actually trying to print a document, as i am unfamiliar with this type of printer i am patiently reading the manual to help.........i am missing something......when i have my drawing on screen and press print, the status states 'printing' but then after a few minutes i get 'error'!! Come to the end of a line with solutions so if anyone has any advice or help i would be really really grateful :) Thank you in advance :)

Hello.
If your running windows 7 then it will have issues printing correctly. as of yet HP have not provided a driver to support this model. More info is available from HP regarding this.
With the first issue how long do you leave it before removing the cartridges? the lights on some models do this during there "warm up" process. this can take from 30 seconds up to 5 mins depending on what the printer thinks it needs.
Regards GM

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

Can't print pdfs on my designjet 430

I would start with a simple test as to check all the settings of the printer. If you can retrieve a Self configuration of the printer, this will tell you what is set in the printer's character's settings. This is also checking current Firmware dirvers to include your Post script

MY designjet 430 all of a sudden is not printing straight, but is printing wiggly lines. Any ides on how to fix this?

You can try Print-Quality Plot test to diagnose the problem. Load paper, when ready light up, then press Form Feed and Media Source keys together. After print is done, unload paper.

This plot consists six tests. The third one is Vertical Line Straightness (VLS) test. You can read the HP 430 Service Manual page 6-7, 6-8 and 6-9. These articles will tell you how to correect the problem.

I am unable to get my HP DesignJet 450C to communicate with Windows Vista 64. Is there a driver or work around.

Sorry, drivers are not available for Vista, yip, I know. You can select the 430 but then only have black printing.
HP need their rear ends kicked on this one, they are forcing us to purchase new equipment.

Also HP makes alot of "universal drivers" that work for tons of printers then you dont have to worry about specific model printers because the universal probably controls it.

Hp designjet 430 cartridge light on

make sure the contacts on the print cartridge and the carriage area where they go are clean. if cleaning the contacts doesn't help then the carriage and/or trailing cable will need replaced.

Hp designjet 430

This usually is solved by removing and reinstalling the ink cartridges...make sure the electrical contacts are clean (use a dry paper towel) on both the print cartridge and the carriage.

If the error still happens then the carriage or trailing cable are bad and will need replaced.
