Question about Frigidaire 30" Self-Cleaning Freestanding Gas Range - Easy Care Stainless-Steel
With the oven door open, watch the vents at the sides of the floor of the chamber for an orange glow a few seconds after you try to turn the oven on.
If it doesn't appear and is similar to other later ranges, it means the igniter has failed.
If built as others, it will have hot-surface igniters (one down, one up) and the lower one has failed.
To confirm that this does use the common system, air out the oven first then try the broiler. If it works, you have gas available but nothing to ignite it. Also, you should never get even a distinct thump; this could be dangerous and the gas should not flow without lighting for more than a few seconds.
