Wii is working fine but when disc is put in it will not play

I see this problem all the time, here are a few things you can try before sending it to www.risingsonltd.com for repairs:
"Cleaning Game Disc
  • Use only: straight strokes when wiping the disc (do not use a circular motion).
  • Use only: a clean, soft, cotton cloth (do not use paper towels, facial tissue, etc.).
  • Use only: water (do not use soap or any other cleaning solution).

  • Do NOT use: solvents such as: benzine, window cleaner, paint thinner, anti-static aerosol spray or abrasive cleaners.
  • Properly cleaning a game disc:

  1. Dampen a portion of a clean, soft, cotton cloth, using only plain water.

  2. With the damp part of the cloth, use straight strokes and wipe the bottom of the disc (non-labeled side) from the inside rim to the outside rim.
  3. After all of the water has been removed, let the disc sit for at least two minutes to completely dry before inserting it into the Wii console.

  4. Try to play the game to see if the problem has been resolved."
If this fails the Optical drive needs to be replaced.

I put in the game Call of Duty; Black ops into my xbox. Sometimes it reads it as a DVD and other times it say "unable to read disk, clean with soft clothe." I take the game out and wipe it off...

Typically it is from a dirty or scratched DVD. Some fabrics may scratch the dvd. It is best to use a very soft flannel cloth only and even with that handle carefully.

You can also use a wax like candle wax and softly rub it over and wipe it off. It must be a true soft wax, not a silicon wax. That will fill in tiny scratches when cleaning isn't enough sometimes.

Just purchased Dance Central game for xmas. Played it and it worked fine for one session, then switched to a different game disc. After playing the second disc for a little while, tried to go back to Dance...

We had the exact same issue. It worked fine the first time, we switched games and when we tried to play it again it gave us the unreadable disc error. I cleaned it multiple times and called tech support with no luck... they actually suggested returning it. In a last attempt I took it to a game store in town and they cleaned it for $1. He said we had a lazer burn which is common with the xbox... even if the console is barely bumped it can burn a circle into the disc. Sure enough, our Dance Central is working 100% now. Hope that helps!!

WOULD IT BE OK TO CLEAN THE SCREEN ON MY LG LCD SCREEN WITH DVD DISC CLEANING FLUID AND A SOFT CLOTHE

Soft dry cloth wipe frequently on LCD screen is the only way. Slightly damp cloth maybe use at your own risk of leaking water into the lcd screen and damge the tin oxide(turn black).

I have a HP Laserjet CM 4730 MFP printer and the printer cartridge leaked all inside the printer where the cartridges are put in. Leak is all over other cartridges and on transfer unit and film. How do I...

Take the printer outside or away from people. Remove all the cartridges. Wipe the cartridges down with a lint free cloth. Vacuum out the inside of the printer as best you can. If you have access to a compressor, blow the printer out. Canned air works good too. Use a soft microfiber cloth to wipe down the transfer roller. Keep shaking the cloth out. Canned air will work on that also. Try that before the cloth. Don't put the bad cartridge back in the printer!
Depending on how old the bad cartridge is you maybe able to get a credit on a replacement.
Throw away the vacuum cleaner bag. A toner vac works best if you can afford it.

Will not read dvd disc

This can be due to dust in the machine, on the disc or surdace damage to the disc.
These are the most common causes anyway.
Clean the disc itself with plain water and wipe with a soft cloth gently to dry it.
Run a CD Cleaner disc in the machine for 30 seconds, and dust off the loading tray/area with a soft brush.
Then try again.

Try other discs to see if the machine is ok - or whether it is the new disc that is faulty.
Smetimes you have to load the disc 3 or more times untill it reads a certain bit of data correctly to start, after this it doesn't seem so important.

Ps1

Hi,
If it,s only on this actual game, i,d suggest cleaning the disk itself. FF7 was virtually glitch free.
another way to resolve this, is to play the game right up until it crashes-glitches. 10-20 seconds before. go to the nearest save point, and make a save. re-load the game and see if you go past now. The PS2 has a limited video memory.
On ocassions the memory can be overloaded with graphics info,
My Tip-Trick for cleaning the disk.
1:- put the disk into an old CD Jewel Case. ( so that the underside is facing upwards )
carefully inspect the disk for scratches or debris-fingerprints et,c.
put a small amount of washing up liquid into a small bowl, and add luke( hand Warm Water )
using a soft cotton or lint cloth, dip the cloth into the solution, and wring out. cloth should be dampened not soaking or dripping. Wipe the disk from the inner ( centre edge ) outwards.
Step 2:- wipe the disk with a dry clean cloth ( I find the yellow Duster type Cloths Are Ideal ) now breath on the disk, and polish ( buff up ) with a soft clean cloth.
This should now give you a playable games disk.
If you still can,t get it to work, try a laser head cleaner.
Or e-mail me, for my address. send me the faulty disk and i,ll repair it for you.
Hope this sorts you out.
